Job Description

SCOPE OF INTERN WORK & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Data Quality & Analysis Intern will gain firsthand experience analyzing and reporting on national and IRC refugee arrivals trends, as well as resettlement outcomes. Under the supervision of the Program Officer for Data Quality & Visualization, the Data Quality & Analysis intern will have the following responsibilities:

· Assist in updating regularly scheduled reports and dashboards that will be shared with leadership and U.S. field staff

· Gather and reconcile data between multiple government and funder-mandated databases

· Provide data analysis support responding to ad hoc report requests

· Provide support with data quality assurance

· Assist in creating Excel reports and Power BI dashboards as needed

· Perform additional internship-related duties and responsibilities as requested

COMMITMENT: 6 months starting in June 2021, 15 or 37.5 hours per week (full-time preferred, but flexible)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. The intern will gain knowledge of domestic refugee resettlement programs, processes, and how data is used to inform decision-making

2. The intern will learn how to use multiple government and funder-mandated databases to gather and assess data pertaining to national and IRC refugee arrivals trends and resettlement outcomes

3. The intern will strengthen data analysis skills to effectively communicate accurate, reliable and visually appealing data to various audiences (including leadership, field office staff, Finance, Communications & Advocacy)

REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated from an undergraduate, graduate or certificate program; Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Good understanding and proven experience with data quality and analysis, preferably in a non-profit setting

· Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and skills required

· Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI preferred

· Experience working in a non-profit or humanitarian setting preferred

· Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills required

· Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain tight deadlines required

· Clear written and verbal communication skills required

This is an unpaid internship position. No financial compensation, including compensation for relocation, is available.
