How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the Data processing associate supports the Social Protection – Cash Transfers by carrying out a range of programme support functions to help develop, implement and monitor their country programme, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.

The Data Associate works in close collaboration with a range of staff in the CO, external partners and agency counterparts in support of programme design and delivery. S/He provides regular feedback on the status of projects through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track.

1. Financial inclusion for Syrian refugees for UNICEF HCT and Syrian volunteers in camps and host communities:

  • Facilitate the development of purchase orders and other contractual agreements across multiple sections.
  • Facilitate processing of monthly payments for Syrian volunteers through mobile wallets according to donor allocations and sections in both camps and host communities.
  • Generate payment reports to ensure adequate processing of monthly payments and closure.
  • Provide troubleshooting support on monthly payments for UNICEF’s volunteers.
  • support drafting Standard Operation Procedures to initiate UNICEF’s mobile money project.
  • Prepare and roll out financial inclusion and mobile wallet procedure training in coordination with external parties to UNICEF partners and incentive-based volunteers in camps.

2. Implementation monitoring through interactive communication tool (RapidPro):

  • implement SMS flows and surveys to support sections in their programmatic needs specifically in relation to reaching targets.
  • Improve the implementation of the RapidPro workspace by branching out into different communication channels.

3. UNICEF Humanitarian Cash Transfer Programme:

  • Prepare monthly payments for UNICEF’s Cash aid program across sections, including payment checking and distribution.
  • Monitor and assess the monthly payments preparing reports for management.
  • Provide troubleshooting support on monthly payments after distribution.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education: Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization.
  • Experience: A minimum of Six years of projects implementation and support is required. Prior experience in programme support in cash transfers programmes is an asset.Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
