As part of IOM Thailand’s upcoming media training initiatives, IOM is conducting surveys on migration journalism to better understand how journalists cover migration in Thailand and to assess existing gaps and needs when reporting on migration. The findings from the assessment will help inform the development of a media training package/curriculum that will be rolled out starting this year.

Who can take the survey? 1. Thai Journalists 2. Non-journalists (students, migrants and civil society partners)

Expected Output/Deliverables: - Each Online Volunteer is expected to reach out to at least 10 respondents throughout the assignment duration. - Submit record/evidence of survey dissemination and respondents reached by regularly updating the IOM Thailand focal point. - Ensure accessibility and support for respondents identified as persons with disabilities.

SPECIAL NOTICE This online assignment is unpaid. Upon successful completion of the assignment, Online Volunteers will receive Certificate issued by UNV.

To analyze how media covers migration in Thailand and uncover the needs when reporting on migration issues, we seek support from Online Volunteers, who under the guidance of IOM Thailand Media and Communication team will: - Participate and help disseminate the survey in Thailand for the survey of Migration Journalism and collect responses. - Conduct data collection using defined methodology and tools shared.

Candidates should have the following:
- A good knowledge of the cultural and social contexts of the targeted groups
- A respect for the confidentiality of the targeted groups
- A commitment to meet deadlines and quality standards - A good network of journalists or from one of the other targeted groups - A respect for the confidentiality and ethics of the data collected.

The selected Online Volunteers will receive guidance on the target audience and our communications guidelines as well as other guidance as needed.
