Generation Unlimited is a global UN program launched by the Secretary General in 2018 to transition young people in the age between 10-24 from the learning phase to the earning stage through skilling & training, secondary education, entrepreneurship, digital solutions and positive civic engagement. Following the launch of Generation Unlimited in Egypt under the name Shabab Balad that took place in January 2022 during the World youth Forum, Shabab Balad has been set in Egypt with a grounded governance structure of an Advisory Board that was inaugurated during the COP27 conference in Sharm El Sheikh with prominent members representing Generation unlimited stakeholders such as the Government, Development Partners, Private Sector and youth who are integral part of the whole process starting from planning till the execution. Shabab Balad operation involves several UN agencies engaging to support the program such as ILO, UNFPA, UNDP, UNESCO and UNICEF where the last act as the Secretariat of Shabab Balad and coordinate relevant efforts across all UN agencies. Shabab Balad has been approved by its advisory board to be the mechanism to achieve the High Level Meeting National Commitment of Egypt that was made in Amman summit in May 2022. The national commitment that will be then monitored and anaylised by Shabab Balad Secreteriat, needs support to coordinate data collection, monitoring analysis and follow up with UN agencies to ensure progress of national commitment target versus plan.

Officer (UNV) hosted at the GenU Secretariat is needed to support planning, implementation and coordination across UN agencies and drafting proposals to private sector (involving multiple UN agencies).

A. High Level Meeting target has been agreed by 13 UN agencies as a National Commitment for Egypt. Under the guidance and supervision of Generation Unlimited Lead, the national UN Volunteer will assist Generation Unlimited (GenU) Egypt to:

(1) Drafting, editing, and creating reports on UN agencies progress towards the national commitment target.

(2) Monitor each UN agency’s progress and actual plan versus target and report to GenU lead based on a set periodical reporting routine.

(3) Collect required data on programs relevant to National commitment made and analyze data versus target.

(4) Develop periodical internal narrative and reporting mechanism on the HLM progress on monthly basis.

(5) Draft proposals to relevant stakeholders to support advocacy effort made by GenU that will assist in achieving the National Commitment target.

B. Generate content from the advocacy efforts to be leverage with relevant stakeholders for potential engagement in Shabab Balad:

(1) From the on ground grass root programs and the Shabab Balad Ambassadors engagement programs, candidate will work closely with the GenU team, PR agency and the Communications team to generate content and identify messages, themes, and concepts as part of content to be leveraged on different communications channels and digital fronts that further build the profile of GenU in Egypt and attract new partnerships that engage with GenU which will lead to increase the set target made in the national commitment.

(2) Content generation: Write, design, and produce the social content (English). - Messaging - Captions - Social Media Digital Assets (Infographics, Audio-Visual designs, GIFs, static cards etc.)

(3) Revise the content and visuals as per feedback, if needed.

(4) Include suitable formats for all content across different social media platforms.

C. Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
