RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Management
- Data entry - Monitor data systems - Data analysis
Project
- Developed by the intern in coordination with Data Specialist - Must include data analysis and reference humanitarian work - Intern will complete supplementary educational materials on data philosophy and ethics
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Interns will learn the foundations of data management, including data system maintenance, data entry, and data analysis - Interns will develop an ability for self-guided work. - Interns will reflect on the role of data in international humanitarian relief - Interns will learn the basics of data philosophy - Interns will reflect on the role of ethics in data management
Qualifications REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel abilities - Fluency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint - Self-guided and self-motivated - Willing to learn new software programs and data analysis tools - If remote or hybrid, access to reliable internet, a computer, and video call technology (laptops can be provided to an intern only while in the office) - If remote or hybrid, ability to download and install software to complete remote work - If remote or hybrid, ability to attend meetings via video call during Eastern Standard Time (NYC time) - Willing to learn about IRC history, philosophy, global work, and local efforts - Willing to adhere to IRC volunteer and workplace policies
RECOMMENDED (NOT REQUIRED):
- Experience with Microsoft Teams - Experience with Microsoft Power BI - Experience with data analysis - Understanding of foundational statistics
