You have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Data Management, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, Communications, Product Management, and other relevant disciplines.
- Five (5) plus years of recent and progressive working knowledge of principles of adult learning, communications and branding and experience with the delivery of professional communications; including writing, editing, branding and publications.
- Three (3) plus years of experience in developing data literacy capabilities in a large organization (over 10,000 employees).
- Two (2) plus years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, development, or other related area is highly desirable.
- Fluency (level C) in English language is mandatory.
- Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese is desirable.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies, and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. We are seeking to fill a remote working consultancy position of Data Literacy and Advocacy Coordinator
WFP Technology Division (TEC, formerly known as IT) is the digital business engine of the World Food Programme, providing the business with multi-pronged and resilient technical capabilities able to respond with the agility required in humanitarian operations, be they man made or in a natural disaster setting. TEC Division continues to increase its activities to meet the constantly growing demand from the organization and implement the initiatives related to digital transformation.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The vision is to create a future where all WFP staff have the capabilities required to contribute towards a data-driven organization. We are seeking a trailblazer who understands the business value of data and has a proven history of championing and building change management, training, and communication programs to maturity.

The Data Literacy and Advocacy Coordinator has a dual role in developing creative, structured, and engaging data literacy content while also leading advocacy efforts to inform our internal organization on how to unlock the full potential of WFP’s data assets.
Reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics Team, the incumbent will partner with Technology Division teams as well as functional teams across WFP. Working on both strategic and tactical activities, the Data Literacy and Advocacy Coordinator will also need to demonstrate a flexible an adaptable communication style to overcome challenges and establish cross-functional support for initiatives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner across WFP to design, create content and implement a user-centric Data Literacy Program tailored to WFP’s employees (and aligned to WFP’s and the wider UN data roles) and Programmes. Utilize user research to understand priorities and needs with data skills.
- Manage WFP's data literacy programme including the development and monitoring of objectives, key results, and timelines for delivery.
- Organize online and in-person data literacy trainings from course design to participant management and course evaluation.
- Liaise with partners on their data literacy initiatives and practices to learn from their experiences and ensure a coordinated approach across WFP and the UN.
- Engage with potential implementing partners including the private sector for delivering the data literacy workstream.
- Co-develop with TEC communication teams and own the Data & Analytics Advocacy strategy, making our value more tangible, visible, and accessible to internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with Data Product Teams to coordinate Data Advocacy activities and plan events to ensure objectives and key results are delivered.
QUALIFICATIONS & E****XPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education

Experience
- Five (5) plus years of recent and progressive working knowledge of principles of adult learning, communications and branding and experience with the delivery of professional communications; including writing, editing, branding and publications
- Of which, three (3) plus years of experience in developing data literacy capabilities in a large organization (over 10,000 employees)
- Highly Desirable: Two (2) plus year of experience progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, development, or other related area.

Language:
