About ACAPS

ACAPS is dedicated to helping humanitarians make better decisions. We want to put evidence at the heart of decision-making. To achieve this, we collaborate with a variety of partners across the humanitarian sector and beyond. We strive to be an evolving platform providing:

  • Independent analysis to support evidence-based decision making for humanitarian operations
  • Deployment of experts to support assessments and analysis in crisis
  • Innovative approaches to collect more reliable and timely data and conduct rigorous analysis
  • Capacity development of humanitarian actors to carry out better needs assessments and analysis

Context

The ongoing conflict is resulting in significant humanitarian needs, particularly in the parts of the country which continue to suffer from regular airstrikes and shelling. The impact of the crisis is being felt on multiple levels, with the subsequent economic crisis further compounding existing needs and negatively impacting the living conditions of the population. There is a gap in understanding the severity of needs and scope of the humanitarian crisis at a more granular level.

Ukraine Analysis Hub

ACAPS’ Ukraine Analysis Hub provides impartial, independent, timely, and high-quality analytical products, which strengthen the evidence base for decision making and response programming among humanitarian stakeholders related to the crisis in Ukraine.

Purpose of the position

Contribute to ACAPS’ timely analysis of humanitarian crises, thus enabling crisis responders to make better informed decisions. This is an entry-level position for people interested in a career in the humanitarian sector and who are specifically interested in qualitative and quantitative analysis, data collection, and in promoting evidence-based decision making. The data collectors will support the ACAPS Ukraine Analysis Hub and its work by participating in secondary data review and data collection.

Operate in line with the ACAPS values

ACAPS is a dynamic and independent organisation. We share and strive to maintain the values of agency, candour, integrity, diversity, evolution, ambition, and collaboration in everything we do. The post holder is expected to develop the position in line with these values. The ACAPS values live in the way we manage our teams, create our content and engage with stakeholders.

We are an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to diversity without distinction to age, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, and physical ability.

Working environment

In ACAPS, we provide an office space for team members to gather, share ideas, and get to know one another. We find that these unscheduled moments of interaction help foster a great culture and allow for more moments of collaborative inspiration. Many of us also work from home or other ‘out of the office’ locations, splitting our time between home office and ACAPS office. We feel going to the office should be something you want to do, not have to do.

Why Join Us?

  • Innovative and Dynamic Environment: Be part of an organization that is shaping the future of the humanitarian data landscape, with innovative solutions, in a supportive and dynamic workplace.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work with a diverse team of talented professionals who are passionate about making a difference.
  • Impact: Contribute to meaningful projects that have a real impact on the humanitarian responders and affected population.
