  • An advanced university degree in Digital Transformation, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside the country of which the candidate is a national.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience with big data tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and predictive analytics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of another official United Nations language is an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Analyst will play a key role in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions and improve business performance. The project involves the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets to identify trends, uncover patterns, and provide actionable insights. The data analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-driven solutions align with business goals. Gather and clean large datasets from various internal and external sources. Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the data lifecycle. Maintain databases and optimize data management processes. Use data visualization tools to present findings in a clear and concise manner. Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to help improve decision-making. Present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders in an easy-to-understand format. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide appropriate analytical solutions.

Qualifications/special skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • An advanced university degree from an accredited educational institution in Digital Transformation, Data Science, or a related field. • At least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside the country of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport or national identity card. • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with big data tools and technologies. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms. Familiarity with machine learning techniques and predictive analytics. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in English; knowledge of another official United Nations language is an asset. COMPETENCIES • Applying technical expertise • Analyzing • Planning and Organizing • Communication CONDITIONS OF SERVICE • The consultant will be based in UNRWA HQA Amman - Jordan. • The duration of the consultancy is 6 months with the possibility of extension subject to the availability of funds and continuing need and satisfactory performance. • The selected consultant will receive monthly fees of $5,140 at P2 level of the international staff salary scale. Masters’ degree in Digital Transformation, Data Science, or a related field. Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role. At least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside the country of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport or national identity card.
