To eradicate polio from Afghanistan through high routine immunization coverage, high qualitysupplementary immunization activities (SIA), and a highly sensitive AcuteFlaccid Paralysis (AFP) surveillance system.


The incumbent will performthe following duties:Develop and/or update database systems; activities tracker and implementation tools to ensure the quality and security of data.Develop need base template/formats, Questionnaires for survey andsupport program units. Provide technical support to the regional and provincial offices and otherprogram units in term of data provision, data management, data integrity, analysis and follow-up on data issues/discrepancies, as well as support in conducting trainings and refresher courses for relevant staff.Perform regular data checks for quality and data integrity and ensuresdata system are operational.Regularly coordinate with provincial focal point for data cleaning anddata consistency and provide feedback to the provinces for necessary actions.Conduct in-depth/deep-dive statistical analysis and data triangulation to help the Program in monitoring its progress, including performance relatedto AFP surveillance, SIAs, monitoring, resource planning and finance, preparingreports/presentations in term of trend analysis, and managing geospatial database for developing maps using GIS applications.Collect data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaindatabase/Interpret data to analyze results using statistical techniques andprovide ongoing reportsSupport in preparing reports/ analysis for National Surveillance Cell,Regional Office, Partners and NEOC that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.Support the data management officer in generating new data managementplan and procedures.



Essential: Universitydegree in computer science . Desirable: Advanced university degree in computer sciences, relevant experience in data analysis and data management , data related trainings and experience in international organizations and UN would be a plus.


Essential: At least one year relevant experience in data analysis and data management. Desirable: Experience of work in UN and/or other international organizations, with knowledge of Polio programme.


Sound technical knowledge on epidemiology and surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases; prevention and control measures; preparednessand response.Ability to establish harmonious working relations with national counterparts and international colleagues.

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 37,838 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
