This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Operational Information Management Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Operational Information Management support (40%)

  • Support the collation and dissemination of political and humanitarian analysis pertaining to WFP current or future responses and donor policies, trends and preferences to ensure country specific input to WFP’s operational reporting.
  • Assist staff in assigned area to ensure that standard Operational Information Management & Performance Reporting procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardisation of information management and performance reporting across WFP
  • Support the assurance of defined quality standards in all OIM & PR processes and products.

Annual Reporting Exercise support (35%)

  • Support the production of the Annual Country Reports (ACR) in collaboration with the country office programme, monitoring & evaluation, logistics and resource management functions by coordinating to ensure coherence and quality of performance information.
  • Support with tracking the ACR schedule, including all ACR documents in the system and keep the ACR task force updated with documents received and pending deadlines.
  • Assist the dissemination of the ACRs at the country and regional levels with quality assurance and innovation to showcase WFP RBC achievements to wider audience and relevant stakeholders.

Data management support (25%)

  • Support the roll-out of data management initiatives aiming to improve, streamline, and harmonize the flow of RBC operational information across WFP dashboards including mapping of data sources and users’ needs as well as drafting OIM & PR related normative guidance, as required.

  • Collaborate with counterparts internally to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and to complement WFP analysis and information in order to facilitate and maximize the exchange of information and data flow between functional area networks in WFP

  • Any other tasks as may be required and/or assigned

Educational additional comments

Advanced University degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses

Experience remark

Typically two years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development. Experience utilizing computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, data capture systems and other software packages and systems.
