Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the United Nations Operations and Crisis Centre (UNOCC). UNOCC provides global situational awareness crisis and risk management services to UN leadership, and facilitates senior-level decision-making. As the cross-pillar information hub at UN headquarters, the UNOCC is a multi-party entity that includes the Peacekeeping Situation Centre (SitCen) and staff members seconded by client organizations.

Reporting to the Executive Office of the Secretary-General (EOSG), the UNOCC is also positioned under the Office of the Director of Coordination and Shared Services between the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) and the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA). The incumbent reports to the UNOCC’s Risk Management Focal Point.

Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:

•Contributes to the preparation of data-driven reports and products, based on organizational needs and requirements for reporting and analysis. •Supports digital process improvement initiatives, including for system-wide risk review and decision-making mechanisms. •Contributes to the creation and maintenance of databases, contributes to data collection projects, products, tools and processes to extend the capabilities of client offices. •Contributes to the identification and analysis of patterns in data sets using mixed methods. •Contributes to the preparation of data sets and products, being responsible for the acquisition and initial cleaning of data from primary and secondary sources. •Responds to client queries/requests and maintains/updates web pages, incl. for system-wide risk review and decision-making mechanisms. •Supports core Secretariat functions to senior decision-making fora (senior management group (SMG), executive committee (EC), directors-committee (DC), regional monthly review (RMR)), including meeting logistics and document management. •Performs other duties as assigned.

Education •High school diploma or equivalent is required. •A university degree in Management, Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, International Relations or related field is an advantage and may replace some of the required number of years of experience.

Work Experience A minimum of seven years of experience in information management, data analytics, data science, process automation, or related area. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint applications, PowerBI, or PowerAutomate is an advantage. Experience with client relationship management (CRM) systems is an advantage. Experience with Microsoft Azure is an advantage.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

This position is funded for a finite period of six months and extension may be subject to budgetary approval.

Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat.
