CVA/FSL Assistant (only for national)

ROLE PURPOSE:

Save the Children is launching a Cash and Voucher assistance program targeting vulnerable populations of Ukrainian Internal Displaced People IDP, and is seeking CASH Assistance. The program is multi-faceted and will require coordination with multiple organizations and actors from the refugee and IDP community, NGOs and inter-government implementing partners, and other national and international organizations providing related services. The CASH Assistant will act as one of the main points of contact among the beneficiaries, their families and local communities.

He/she will be responsible for assisting Save the Children staff in identifying vulnerable households, conducting assessments, registering project participants, working at distribution locations and providing assistance throughout the projects as required.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Telephone or in-person registration of project participants
  • Participate and carry out assessments, in alignment with the project’s policies and procedures, to identify vulnerable households
  • Ensure that the beneficiary households are well served in alignment with identified guidelines;
  • Foster and maintain an effective, efficient and positive relationship with the beneficiaries, their families, local communities, SCT project staff, NGOs and other national, international and governmental agencies;
  • Assist and contribute to regular reports which will be developed and provided throughout the project’s timeframe;
  • Ensure that refugees are provided with the needed guidance with regard to the cash assistance activities and procedures;
  • Report, on a daily basis and as requested, the day-to-day operational activities which took place at the designated area;
  • Act as a representative to ensure the acceptance and visibility of the project and its objectives among beneficiaries, their families and local communities;
  • Ensure that accurate data and information from all fieldwork activities implemented are properly filed, documented and updated;
  • Establish and maintain a well-structured filing system for all activities executed at the designated areas;
  • Represent SCI in the most respectful and professional manner while demonstrating a full abidance to the projects’ policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and insight about the local community to which he/she is assigned to;
  • Carry out other assigned tasks as required throughout the project’s implementation phase.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially in Excel)
  • Fluency in Ukrainian/Russian
  • Ability to work with refugee populations and demonstrate a respectful attitude and sensitivity
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with people of different backgrounds
  • Ability to work in teams and execute tasks as required throughout the project’s implementation phase

Desirable

  • Experience working with NGOs
  • Working proficiency in English
  • Experience supporting humanitarian or development projects.

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.

Child Safeguarding: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
