Overview

Facilitate customs processing of humanitarian supplies.

You have:

  • University degree in business administration, law, engineering, or related area
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in methodology, training, planning, administration or related area
  • Experience of working in customs administration/revenue authority is required
  • Experience in customs computerization is required
  • Experience of work for international organization would be an advantage
  • Fluency in English

Result of Service The consultant's services will contribute to the further facilitation of customs processing of humanitarian supplies by the UN agencies to Afghanistan and other post-conflict countries.

Expected duration 5 months

Duties and Responsibilities Within the UNCTAD-UNDP Afghanistan project the ASYCUDA Exemptions System should be upgraded to facilitate customs processing of the UN humanitarian consignments for Afghanistan.

Under the supervision of the UNCTAD Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) Regional Coordinator for the CEE, Central Asia and Afghanistan, the Consultant will be required to undertake the following tasks

- Review of ASYREC System for its development and implementation in Afghanistan; - Comparison of the current Exemption System v/s the new ASYREC system in Afghanistan context; - Provide Recommendations for the development and implementation of ASYREC system in Afghanistan; - Extraction list of emergency items to be included in the ASYREC system in Afghanistan; - Provide Recommendations for connecting ASYREC with Exemption System; - Assist in the Population of Reference Tables in ASYREC system;

Qualifications/special skills University degree in business administration, law, engineering, or relared area Minimum 5 years of experience in the areas of methodology, training, planning, administration or related area is required. Experience of working in customs administration/revenue authority is required. Experience in customs computerization is required. Experience of work for international organization would be an advantage

Languages Fluency in English
