The Warehouse Inventory and Management Center (WIMC) at the UNICEF Supply Division contributes to the overall objective of ensuring timely access of good quality strategic supplies for children. WIMC manages efficient and effective warehouse operations in Copenhagen and the network of global hubs and coordinates with procurement centres and the Emergency Coordination Unit to ensure optimal stock levels to meet demand.

How can you make a difference?

Under close supervision and technical guidance of the Supply and Logistics Manager, provide effective and friendly services to assigned Country Offices, ensuring accurate and timely processing of Programme and Procurement Sales orders/stock transfer orders up to the completion and closure of the order, with the overall goal of meeting the needs and requirements of the customers.

  1. Contributes to effective supply requisition processing in Supply Division until the final completion, by carefully screening the supply requisitions to ensure quality and adequacy of information, appropriateness of requests, quantities, shipment, delivery dates and budgets.
  2. Monitors the status of the assigned Country Office programme orders and center specific Key Performance Indicators. Follows-up on progress or problems with other centers to facilitate communication among all parties involved in the transaction.
  3. Develops good relationships with assigned Country Offices through direct communication and collaboration. Supports the Country Offices by continues dialogue.
  4. Supports the implementation and follow-up of annual supply planning in Country Offices by providing required information analysis and feedback.
  5. Helps compile country specific reports by analyzing and evaluating specific data as requested.
  6. Contributes to the regular review and creation of divisional and center procedures.
  7. Any other duties and project assistance requested by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary education
  • Minimum five years of professional working experience in the area of supply chain management in a commercial/industrial enterprise or an international organization.
  • Demonstrated work experience in procurement, logistics or customer service function.
  • Super user skills in SAP Supply Chain Management modules and Microsoft Excel
  • Fluency in English

Desirables:

  • Technical or university level courses in related field
  • Additional training in commercial areas of shipping and procurement
  • Knowledge of international public procurement practices.
  • Proficiency in another UN language (Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese, Arabic).
