Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world.

DRC Ukraine is looking for a highly qualified CSO Partnership Officer based in Kyiv.

Overall purpose of the role

The role of CSO Partnership Officer will be to support DRC in following the implementation of DRC-funded projects by Ukrainian CSOs. This includes monitoring the successful implementation of the activities, adequate use of the funds and review issues CSOs may have in implementing their projects and propose solutions. S/he will work closely with DRC’s finance, supply chain and MEAL departments to ensure compliance with all DRC policies. The CSO Partnership Officer will collaborate with DRC’s Capacity Building team in the implementation of this programme.

  • Ensure the quality of the planning, implementation and follow-up of all technical aspects of the sector activities being implemented by DRC.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with the local civil society organization (CSO) or non-governmental organization (NGO) focal points, persons of concern, relevant stakeholders and other humanitarian actors, to support adequate implementation and coordination of DRC’s sector activities.

Main responsibilities:

Programming & Operations

  • Ensure efficient and effective programme implementation while following the budget and work plan
  • Ensure close collaboration with DRC’s Capacity Building team on programme implementation
  • Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports and proposals and budgets for donors
  • Lead the team in carrying out monitoring and evaluation exercises

Coordination and representation

  • Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector relevant issues, including DRC non-food items, shelter and protection teams
  • Represent DRC at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings
  • Ensure integration with other DRC sectors

Project development

  • Develop project plans and budgets for funding, including to request further funding for project expansion and extensions
  • Develop projects tools, especially for tracking and monitoring of partner CSOs
  • Project implementation and reporting
  • Monitor and evaluate projects

Logistics/Finance

  • Support the monitoring of financial commitments and expenditures against budgets and provide timely feedback on budget follow-up
  • Plan and coordinate proactively logistics and movements of staff from and to different operational areas
  • Initiate procurements and ensure their execution
  • Ensure distribution plans are prepared and shared with logistics in a timely manner

Required experience and competencies:

  • Relevant university degree (e.g. political science, international development, or economics) or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in sector area working for an INGO or NNGO
  • Minimum 1 year of practical experience in working with civil society organizations
  • Experience working with Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Fluency in local language

We offer:

Contract length: 3 months with the possibility of extension based on successful probation.
