You have:

  • Experience in coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building is an asset.

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Since the start of the Russian full-scale military invasion, Ukraine has rapidly emerged as one of the world’s most complex emergencies. Women are disproportionally affected by the multi-sectoral and compounded impact of the crisis. Women constitute the majority of those displaced within and outside of the country, and they face significantly increased safety and protection risks. Incidents of genderbased violence (GBV), particularly domestic violence and conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), including trafficking in persons for sexual purposes have drastically increased. There have been reports of war crimes perpetrated against civilians, including the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war.

Under the overall guidance of the UN Women Representative and direct supervision by the UN Women WPA (Women Protection Adviser), the UN Volunteer will be responsible for supporting the coordination and implementation of the project activities, including through supporting the coordination of relationships with national partners and stakeholders, the monitoring and reporting, and the finances of the CRSV programme and will undertake the following tasks:

  1. Assist on the coordination and implementation of the CRSV programme

- Assist the coordination of the CRSV projects and activities, including on workplan implementation according to Strategic Note/ programme document; - Support the team on gathering inputs for the preparation of periodic narrative progress reports and expenditures status reports; - Support the implementation of existing systems for project planning, implementation and monitoring, in collaboration with partners; - Assist the CRSV team to record and maintain documents on relevant programme activities, issues, and risks. 2. Assist in coordination of national partners and other stakeholders - Assist in the coordination of relationships with national partners to support implementation and expansion of the Programme; raise potential problems and suggest solutions; - Communicate capacity-building needs raised by partners and support the CRSV team in tasks related to the provision of technical assistance to partners through technical assistance, mentoring, training and capacity development initiatives, as needed. 3. Provide support to programme monitoring and reporting - Assist in the gathering and compilation of information necessary for monitoring and reporting on the CRSV programme; - Assist in the monitoring of the implementation of activities and the expenditure of funds; including though assistance in the preparation of monitoring visits, as required; - Support the gathering of inputs to annual and periodic reports, including implementing partner financial and narrative reports; - Support the provision of inputs from programme activities and results to Country Office reporting. 4. Assistance to management of the CRSV programme - Assist in the preparation of financial resources of the CRSV programme, including support to budgeting and budget revisions tasks, and expenditure tracking and reporting; - Support the monitoring of allocation and disbursement of funds to participating partners; 5. Assist in knowledge building and communication - Assist in the documentation of programme implementation process and products; - Assist in the gathering of inputs for the development of knowledge products internally and externally; - Support the preparation of advocacy campaigns, events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products.

Results/expected outputs:

  • Monthly coordination meetings of the UN Action project partners are effectively supported.
  • Quality of financial and narrative quarterly reporting of the UN Action partners are prepared in a timely and effective manner.
  • The monitoring and evaluation of the project implementation of the UN Action partners is supported effectively.
  • Inputs to the UN Action, UN Women and other reporting as required are provided in a timely manner.
  • The organization of project activities, trainings, events as required is effectively supported.

As it is a national UN Volunteer's assignment, the UN volunteer shall organize his/her accommodation by themselves.

Entitlements of National UN Volunteer

The contract lasts for the period indicated in the vacancy with the possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity, and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. This is a full-time contract.

Allowances: • Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): USD 1587 (equivalent in UAH) is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and normal cost of living expenses. This includes Well-Being Differentials for the period while the ICSC applies hardship classification to duty stations in Ukraine as “E”. • USD 400 entry lump sum, one-time payment.

Medical and life insurance: • Medical insurance: The UN Volunteer and eligible PFU dependents will receive UNV provided medical insurance coverage. Coverage for UN Volunteers begins from the Commencement of Service and normally ceases one month after the last day of the UN Volunteer Contract date. • Life Insurance: UN Volunteers are covered by life insurance for the duration of the UN Volunteer assignment. If a UN Volunteer dies during the UN Volunteer assignment, the eligible designated beneficiaries will be entitled to receive a life insurance lump sum.

Leave entitlements: • Annual leave:  UN Volunteers accrue an entitlement to 2.5 days of Annual Leave per completed month of the UN Volunteer assignment. Unused accrued Annual Leave up to a maximum of 30 days is carried over in case of a contract extension within the same UN Volunteer assignment. Unused accrued Annual Leave may not be carried over in case of reassignment or a new assignment. • Learning leave: Subject to supervisor approval and exigencies of service, UN Volunteers may request up to ten working days of Learning Leave per consecutive 12 months of the UN Volunteer assignment, starting with the Commencement of Service date, provided the Learning Leave is used within the contract period. • Certified Sick Leave: UN Volunteers are entitled to up to 30 days of certified sick leave based on a 12-month cycle. This amount is reset every 12-month cycle. • Uncertified Sick Leave: UN Volunteers receive seven days of uncertified sick leave working days in a calendar year. This amount will be reset at the established interval period.
