The salary for this job should be between 124,993 USD and 161,152 USD.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The purpose of the position is to ensure programmatic coherence and integration of worksupported by teams in differentfunctional areas of the Department.Drawingon thematic commonalities and promoting collaboration among different teams, technicalexperts and different areas of specialization, the position is identifying overlaps, gaps, and possibilities in pursuing a more effective pogrammedelivery on issues of a cross-cutting nature.The positioncarries a deliveryrole beyond the serving role which the incumbent can directly controlin his/her immediateteam.The Cross-Cutting Lead will propose and implementproject specific, tailormade solutions and mechanismsin a collaborative cross-disciplinary approach, connecting the lines of thevarious areas of specialization coveredby the Department. The positionis tasked to play a crucial role inovercoming silo-mentalities and bringing a more impact-focused culture to the work..

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Summary of Assigned DutiesIdentifyinggaps, overlaps, opportunities and possibilities among the thematic issuesacross the entire Department the position addressesissues of a cross-cutting thematic functionality, drawing on own expertise and that oftechnical specialists working in the various teams and units.Focus on issues of a cross-cutting nature in the role of a thematic lead and project managerfor the areas of responsibility.Serve as lead for and form as requiredproject-limited fluid groups of technicalspecialists; provide input onperformance evaluations of these staff across as regards the cross-cutting topicsand projects.Developsand proposes technical delivery strategies for implementation of cross-cutting results, products, initiatives throughliaising with Regional and Country counterparts, providing advice in to both endson strengthening and improving technicalcapacity of targetclienteles.Representspecific thematic (cross-cutting) areas of the Department and or the Director internally and externally when- and where required, servingas the technical reference pointamong the peer community and within WHO and externalinterlocutors.Providetechnical expertise to health cluster department in implementing shared visionfor collective, gender-sensitive, inclusive accountability through acomprehensive research agenda; wide-reaching data-driven initiatives andaccessible training for health care actors on key thematic issues;awareness-raising for communities of their rights and resources; and enablingaccess for the most vulnerable community members to health care.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 77,326 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 3119 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
