Duties and Responsibilities Created in December 1999, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is the designated focal point in the United Nations system for the coordination of efforts to reduce disasters and to ensure synergies among the disaster reduction activities of the United Nations and regional organizations and activities in both developed and less developed countries. Led by the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction (SRSG), UNDRR has over 100 staff located in its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and in regional offices. Specifically, UNDRR guides, monitors, analyses, and reports on progress in the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, supports regional and national implementation of the Framework and catalyzes action, and increases global awareness to reduce disaster risk by working with the U.N. Member States and a broad range of partners and stakeholders, including civil society, the private sector, parliamentarians, and the science and technology community.

Under the supervision of UNDRR (United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction) Public Information Assistant and, supported by the External Relation Officer, the individual contractor will:

1. Landing page on UNDRR's website with an interactive map of 19 countries of the Caribbean Region illustrating hazards and early warning systems, as follows: - Building of back office - Incorporation of regional information.

2. Develop in Drupal's VIII Regional Platform web page with emphasis on science and technology as well as early warning. Both in English and Spanish: - Produce 2 videos under 2 minutes for social media. - Design and develop 4 infographics.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communication, development studies, economics, geography or graphic design is required.

Experience: -Four (4) years of working experience in production of creative content is required. -Experience with a Drupal multi-domain environment is desirable. -Experience with Google Analytics and its event “event” tracking to measure content performance is desirable. -Working experience in DRR in the Americas and the Caribbean is desirable.

Skills: - Excellent communication skills are desirable. - A methodical working style is desirable. - Concentration, accuracy, and great attention to detail are desirable. - Ability to work to tight deadlines is desirable. - Self-motivation is desirable. - Familiarity with Drupal 8 and some of its modules, such as Paragraphs, Views, and media handling, are desirable. - Familiarity with building web pages for cross-browser and diverse devices (phones, tablets, desktop) is desirable.

Language: Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
