Assist in the planning and reporting of the SSC workshop.

You have:

• Excellent written English is required.
• Knowledge of other UN official languages, especially Spanish and French will be an asset.
• Experience in report writing is essential.
• Interest in international development or cooperation issues.
• Previous work experience in development cooperation agency and/or UN agencies is an asset.
• Availability for the specific assigned dates/times.

A few Online Volunteers will contribute to the following tasks: Before the workshop, the online volunteers will familiarize with the workshop structure and concept. A short meeting will be held with co-organizers. Online Volunteers will take notes during SSC capacity development project planning workshop/training course including the Q and A session. The workshop will be held for four days from 22 to 25 March online (morning and afternoon sessions, 2 hours for each session). They will share brief key points to co-organizers right after each session. After the workshop, Online Volunteers will coordinate and compile all documents into one document and produce workshop report which include summary, main discussion and findings. Based on the feedbacks from co-organizers, Online Volunteers will revise the workshop report. The report will be produced in English (word document).

  The Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) will jointly implement a virtual planning workshop and special training course on management of South-South and triangular cooperation will be implemented, for the week of 22 - 26 March 2021, inviting around 40 countries. It will be divided into four sessions with approximately 2 hours duration each. The same session will be conducted in the morning (English) and in the afternoon (French and Spanish). The workshop objectives are the following: (1) share the challenges for SSC and triangular cooperation met by participant institutions; (2) share SSC and triangular cooperation management practices; (3) critical thinking about BAPA+40 recommendations implementation in terms of SSC and TrC management; (4) preparing an action plan to apply learnings (5) identify composing elements of the project second phase. To record the planning workshop and special training course for governments officials from various countries, volunteers to serve as rapporteurs will be recruited.

  Those who are available for the specific assigned date/time will be selected. We would like to work with volunteers who are interested in international development or cooperation issues and those who have good experience in report writing. Previous work experience in development cooperation agency and/or UN agencies would be an asset, but not required. Excellent written and English is required, and knowledge of other UN official languages, especially Spanish and French will be an asset.
