Create models of buildings and figures for 3D printer
Contract
This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.
With the use of AutoCAT or similar software, the Online Volunteers will create ten 3D models of buildings and three peacekeepers (military, police and civilian) that are ready for 3D printing. In this way, the Online Volunteers will support UNITAR to build up a mock-up simulation village with around 50 buildings, tents and huts. The creation of the models is spread over a couple of weeks, which will allow UNITAR to review and optimise the various models. We aim to move forwards in an agile and iterative approach.

Other communications related experience
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is a training arm of the UN system with a mandate related to building capacities for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through outcome-based training and learning initiatives. The Division for Peace strives to support the (re-)establishment of peaceful, just and inclusive societies by enabling individuals, institutions and organisations to contribute meaningfully to sustainable peace. UNITAR’s Pre-Deployment Training & Advisory Team (PDTA) delivers training to thousands of peacekeepers from a variety of troop contributing countries. This training focuses on a broad range of peacekeeping related topics, such as protection of civilians; protection of human rights and women, peace and security. Tactical training in these areas become more effective when participants can visualise the peacekeeping environment. For this purpose, we want to create a miniature simulation village with peacekeeper models.
