The Inclusive Africa Conference 2026, organized by UNDP Kenya and inABLE, will be held in Nairobi from June 2–4, 2026 under the theme “Accelerating Digital Accessibility and AI Solutions for Africa’s Future.” This hybrid event will convene 300 in-person delegates and engage over 1,400 virtual participants, with regional watch parties in 20 African countries, making it one of the most inclusive forums on digital accessibility in Africa. The conference will highlight accessibility as a driver of digital transformation and sustainable growth, focusing on how AI and emerging technologies can scale inclusive solutions. Discussions will center on three themes: • Inclusive Employment and Skills Development – preparing persons with disabilities for success in the digital workforce. • Economic Empowerment through Assistive Technology and Entrepreneurship – fostering innovation, mentorship, and inclusive participation in creative industries and smart cities. • Digital Financial Services – integrating accessibility into fintech to enable independent financial management with dignity. A key milestone will be the launch of the Kenya Disability Inclusion Partnership (KDIP) during the Gala Dinner on June 4. KDIP will serve as a platform for resource mobilization, coalition-building, and harmonization of ICT accessibility standards across Africa, anchored on data, digital inclusion, and economic empowerment. The flagship session, hosted by UN Kenya, will bring together private sector leaders to explore the intersection of AI, digital inclusion, and employment, positioning accessibility as both a human rights imperative and an economic catalyst. Expected outcomes include immediate commitments from stakeholders, medium-term pilot projects and adoption of accessibility standards, and long-term institutionalization of inclusive policies. Ultimately, the conference seeks to embed accessibility at the core of Africa’s digital future, ensuring persons with disabilities thrive in the continent’s evolving digital ecosystem.
UNDP Kenya and inABLE are seeking 200 committed Online Volunteers to help amplify the Inclusive Africa Conference 2026, taking place in Nairobi from June 2–4, 2026. As part of this campaign, volunteers will join a continent-wide team promoting awareness via social media, using a ready-made toolkit of messages and visuals provided by UNDP Kenya and inABLE. Volunteer Responsibilities • Social Media Engagement: o Share or repost at least 10 campaign posts on personal or organizational platforms during the campaign. o Follow UNDP Kenya and inABLE on Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram. o Share campaign materials (infographics, videos, leaflets) at least three times daily. • Content Creation & Guidance: o Produce one original social media post per week (approx. 12 posts in total). o Use information supplied by UNDP Kenya and inABLE, while guiding the team on tailoring video and other content to align with the campaign’s digital communication policy and reflect on-the-ground activities. • Reporting & Feedback: o Submit weekly engagement metrics, including number of posts shared, estimated reach (views/impressions), and audience feedback. o Participate in one virtual orientation session and a mid-campaign feedback session. • Collaboration: o Work online with the ability to communicate effectively and guide the team on specific support needed to generate regular weekly content. Expected Contribution Volunteers are expected to play a vital role in amplifying the visibility of the Inclusive Africa Conference 2026, ensuring that the message of digital accessibility, inclusive employment, and economic empowerment for persons with disabilities reaches audiences across Africa and beyond.
