We are seeking an experienced website developer to create a Wordpress Website for our first virtual parenting summit, scheduled for November/December 2020. The volunteer will work as part of a strategic marketing, promotions, and design team, and would be responsible for building out this website as a subsite on the Nathan Ebanks Foundation website (www.nefjamaica.org). The Parenting Summit Series is a virtual, highly accessible space for parents and family of children with disabilities and special needs specifically, and parents, families and professionals generally, to encourage, equip, connect them to essential resources, tools and strategies. Hosting an event particularly in the midst of a global pandemic, is challenging, but we are confident that this new format will be a powerful and inviting opportunity that changes lives and relationships. At the end of the task, the volunteer will receive a certificate of appreciation this collaboration.

When Nathan was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, he was just 9 months old. The news was devastating to his family, as they live in Jamaica where services are extremely limited. Feeling lost, out of their depth and alone, the Ebanks family struggled for years seeking answers. This became the Segway for mother Christine, to become one of the leading voices of advocacy for children with disabilities and their families in Jamaica. Christine used her her experience to build a platform to carry the voices of children and their families in Jamaica. She established the Nathan Ebanks Foundation in 2007, and since then, has organized scores of workshops, training and other intervention initiatives which has benefited thousands of children and their families. This volunteer opportunity will support us in promoting and marketing key resources and programs which will add value to the lies of children with disabilities and their families and caregivers. Our goal is to grow our audience, promote our online programs and resources. Your contribution will help us to generate much needed revenues, grow our audience, increase disability sensitization and support.
