Overview

Manage budgets for child protection and youth programs; collaborate with volunteers and organizations.

You have:

  • BA degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian aid, preferably applied in emergency/recovery response operations, focused on child protection and youth program activities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Child Protection and SGBV minimum standards and basic principles, and good knowledge of SGBV and Child Protection case management.
  • Good knowledge of donor grants and contract regulations.

The Opportunity

The post holder will manage the allocated budget for child protection and youth programs within emergency response and development initiatives, collaborating with other program staff. The post holder will primarily work with volunteer social workers, community structures, and partner organizations. They will collect reports from community volunteers and, when necessary, share information with similar agencies in consultation with their supervisor. Additionally, He/she will identify and address the needs of direct beneficiaries while coordinating efforts with staff and local government bodies.

The Individual

  • Excellent knowledge of basic child protection and youth principles, and child & adult development and learning.
  • Good knowledge of donor grants and contract regulations.

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Program Participant and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
