The UNICEF office in Ecuador has a private sector fundraising area whose plan establishes a constant growth in the funds raised for the coming years. The fundraising team has the goal of maximizing the fundraising from the private sector taking advantage of the potential represented by corporate private sector in the country as a complement to the individuals’ donations.

How can you make a difference?

The purpose of this position is to support the development and implementation of an integrated fundraising strategy for the corporate sector that leverages its core strengthens to raise funds and support for UNICEF. The strategy will also look at ways that the corporate sector can help enhance UNICEF’s visibility and pledge donor base – as a mechanism by which to raise more sustainable and flexible funding. The incumbent will work closely with PFP, Communication and Programme sections in order to bridge Programme objectives with private sector corporate engagement.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  1. Corporate Fundraising
  • Supports the preparation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the corporate fundraising strategy and work plan by compiling and analysing relevant data and exploring new and innovative fundraising initiatives.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with corporate partners with fundraising potential ensuring that corporate potential partners meet UNICEF criteria.
  • Manage and grow existing corporate alliances to maximize their fundraising potential.
  • Proactively scout for new innovative ideas and opportunities for corporate fundraising.
  1. ****Corporate engagement to support individuals fundraising****
  • Supports the preparation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the individuals’ channel fundraising strategy in activities related to corporate engagement to support individuals fundraising.
  • Looking for ways to increase the number of pledge donors via corporate entities (corporate pathway to pledge) and help the process of pledge conversion.
  • Ensures an integrated and coordinated workflow between corporate and individual fundraising teams to maximize synergies and increase fundraising results.

Corporate alliances to support UNICEF branding, visibility, and communications

  • Provide support to PFP and Communications sections in relation to fundraising and branding campaigns by maximizing collaborations and existing corporate partnerships platforms.
  • Provide assistance on the planning and implementation of the integrated campaigns assuring private sector participation/support and corporate fundraising activities be included during the process.
  • Supports increase UNICEF’s brand awareness and visibility campaigns with activities that include private sector collaboration.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education: Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in private sector fundraising, corporate alliances, strategic marketing, selling of services and/or intangible or mass consumption products, public relations activities, or any resource-mobilization related activities, preferably with the private sector in an international organization
    • Experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset
  • Language: Fluency in Spanish and advanced level of English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.
