Rough outline of the work order process for products mentioned above as required by RCO focal point and per work order: 1. RCO Bhutan team sends email to the IC Copy Editor at least one week in advance via email for any copy-editing requests; 2. Work order email sent to IC Copy Editor - with product; 3. RCO first review of the edited draft submitted by IC Copy Editor; 4. Incorporating recommended changes by RCO; 5. Second review of the final draft product by IC Copy Editor; 6. Submission of final draft product to RCO by IC Copy Editor.

Duties and Responsibilities The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Bhutan is to ensure the coordination of all organizations of the United Nations dealing with operational activities for development in Bhutan. a. Purpose The purpose of this consultancy is to make available to the UN Office of the Resident Coordinator in Bhutan a native English speaker who is an expert editor with prior United Nations experience for the copy editing of RCO written materials in English b. Objective

The objective of recruiting an expert online editor is to ensure that UN products, including reports, information pieces, presentations and any other written documents are completed at the level of quality expected by the United Nations. Under the supervision of the UN Resident Coordinator and the Head of the Resident Coordinator’s Office, and with the support of respective RCO focal points, the IC will support the copy editing of key UN Bhutan documents/products, including communications products, briefing packages, CCAs, ARR, etc., as listed under deliverables.

Qualifications/special skills - Master’s Degree in communications, journalism, English or relevant field. - Ability to work efficiently and in coordination with the RCO and contributing authors. - Professional experience in copy editing and proofreading publications. - Ability to digest technical content and reframe language to make it accessible to a broader audience. - Prior experience working with United Nations publications and familiarity with United Nations style guide and publishing processes. - IC Copy Editor must maintain confidentiality of all documents.

Languages - Fluency in English (reading, listening, writing and speaking).
