The online volunteers will be reviewing a final document in English on the topic of Smart Cities. The task consists on transferring the relevant texts from power point (around 40 slides) to word for review with track changes, reviewing the language and structure of the text, and suggesting improvements so that it is clearer. The online volunteer might be asked to review the same text more than once, depending on the quantitative modifications after graphic design work, and iterations with other units.

Journalism, mass media and broadcasting
Smart cities have traditionally been a term associated with the intensive use of technology and data in cities, but this tech-centric definition has often limited the term to cities in high-income settings. In this publication, we present the idea that there is no one single definition of a ‘Smart City’. Instead, we identify Smart Urban Innovations, as new or innovative approaches to identify and develop solutions that different cities across the globe have been exploring and explore how they can be enhanced. The Online Volunteer will be expected to deliver a word version of the text with reviews to improve it, with some iterations with the team until the text is finalized and different feedbacks have been integrated, plus a final review of the text after graphic designer has used it as a final output.
