You have:

  • Advanced University degree (Master's or equivalent) in the field of Heritage Management, Cultural Studies or related area.
  • Good knowledge of French and English.

  • Good knowledge of implementing a prize at the international, national or regional level.

  • Ability to conceptualize issues and analyze data to compile and synthesize information in coherent and succinct formats.

For more information, visit our website: **https://whc.unesco.org/en/culturallandscapesprize/**. **Work assignment** In the framework of the implementation of the 2021 edition of the UNESCO-Greece Melina Mercouri International Prize for the Safeguarding and Management of Cultural Landscapes and under the supervision of the Chief of the Europe and North America Unit, World Heritage Centre, Culture Sector, the Individual Specialist shall: a. Monitor the application and evaluation process of the 2021 edition, by: Checking the online application process, providing helpdesk and consulting with candidates and delegations, analyzing and synthesizing the applications received, communicating with the international jury, assisting in the examination and organization of the jury meeting, creating guides for explaining and facilitating the application process for the applicants, replying to everyday queries by Member States and applicants. Long Description ---------------- b. Monitor the promotion and awareness raising activities about the Prize, by: Drafting and proposing a communication strategy for the promotion of the Prize, and ensure its implementation by creating social media, update of website content, as well as graphic content such as posters and graphic interactive materials/guides for applicants, drafting and/or editing a wide range of materials, including articles, speeches, and press releases. c. Contribute to the organization of the Award ceremony, by: Drafting speeches, assisting with the organization of the invitations, travel and logistical arrangements, and creating graphic and visual materials. d. Contribute to the preparation of the final reporting to the donor on the activities undertaken. Please note that UNESCO may assign other tasks to the Individual Specialist and that these tasks comply with the functions as set out above. Long Description ---------------- **Deliverables and timeline** Submission of a monthly progress report on the progress in delivering the outputs related to the work assignment by the end of each month as a condition for the monthly payment of 2,250 USD. For the last payment of 2,250 USD, submission of a final report summarizing the activities carried out, achievements, challenges and lessons learnt over the contract period. The duration of the contact is foreseen for a 8-month period. **Work Location and travel (if any)** The Individual Specialist will work at his/her own premises (using his/her own equipment such as computer, software, internet access). He/she will participate remotely in the weekly meetings of the Unit and to any other meetings as necessary. The job could require 2 - 3 physical meetings during the time of the contract. In that case, the Individual Specialist shall arrange travel for the above-mentioned meetings at his/her own costs.
