The UNSDCF 2023-25 promotes an integrated approach that supports Ghana’s developmental results, delivered collectively by United Nations entities under the leadership of the empowered United Nations Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Country Team. It articulates three key priorities that are aligned with Ghana’s Coordinated Programme for Economic and Social Development Policies 2021–2025, Agenda for Jobs II: Creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunities for All (CPESDP 2021–2025), which is operationalized through the Medium-Term National Development Policy Framework 2022–2025 (MTNDPF), sectoral strategies, policies and national planning instruments: • Inclusive, resilient and sustainable economic growth and transformation • Accessible, equitable, inclusive, sustainable quality basic social services • Durable peace and security in Ghana and the subregion To achieve these results, the United Nations in Ghana will adopt a key strategic shift in the ‘ways of working’ that are not business as usual and that emerge from the United Nations’ collective learning. The aim is to: strengthen the utilization of data for development; establish new, innovative and expanded partnerships with the private sector and civil society; significantly increase the number of joint programmes and joined-up programming; develop enhanced capacity for policy advocacy and leadership; support international norms and standards; and integrate cross-cutting issues. Part of the UN’s coordinated approach under the outcome 3: Durable peace and security in Ghana and the subregion focus on preventing and addressing the root causes of localized and spillover conflicts and vulnerabilities to violent extremism in Northern Ghana. Specifically, these interventions aim to empower local governance institutions, actors and customary governance structures to ensure inclusive governance, economic development and quality service delivery. They will also enable functional spaces for dialogues and mediation for conflict prevention and peace building. The interventions will also enhance the resilience and agency of women and youth for their full and meaningful participation to contribute constructively to local governance decision making and conflict prevention and peace building processes.

Under the direct supervision of Head of UNRCO Ghana the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Provide support to the RCO in the coordination of UN interventions addressing PCVE. • Assist in supporting analysis and research related to the UN interventions addressing PCVE with a particular focus on Women and Youth. • Support communication and coordination with national and local government representatives, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders on the implementation of UN interventions addressing PCVE. • Assist in analysing and researching information on donors, preparation of substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation. • Support planning, development, and conduct of meetings/workshops. • Contribute to the implementation of existing Measurement and Evaluation frameworks for UN interventions addressing PCVE. • Provide inputs to reporting, briefing, and presentation materials related to the program activities. • Support identifying opportunities to improve visibility and implementation of the interventions through communications. • Support UNRCO on other activities as required.
