You have:
- Experience in project assistance, coordination or other relevant programs; experience with development sector is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
- Desirable: valid national driver’s license and proven ability to drive manual gear 4x4 over rough terrain.
- Sound security awareness.
Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

This UNV assignment is part of UNDP Pakistan’s Decentralization, Human Rights and Local Governance (DHL) project. The DHL project is a multi-sector project aimed at strengthening rights-based development, community stabilization, gender equality, and social inclusion across all regions and provinces of Pakistan. The core objective of the project is to ensure inclusive and equitable service delivery by providing technical assistance and capacity development support to relevant federal ministries, provincial line departments, statutory bodies, civil society, and private sector organizations. A key aim is to support the creation of an enabling environment for accelerated access to rights, people-centered justice, and people-centered security. The project focuses on institution building while connecting with vulnerable and at-risk communities to build trust between rights holders and duty bearers for inclusive, expeditious, and transparent access to rights and services.
The UNV Coordination Support Assistant will be stationed at UNV Field Unit and will report to UNV Country Coordinator through UNV Programme Assistant to perform the following tasks:
• Assist in the recruitment process of UNVs, including preparation and publication of vacancy announcements. • Liaise with DHL project team to make sure all recruitment/deployments are smooth and on course. • Maintain close communication with all the stakeholders like DHL project team, UNV Field Unit and others to ensure alignment on recruitment, onboarding, and administration procedures. • Once recruitment process is initiated, coordinate interview schedules and complete the process • Liaise with candidates to finalize recruitment formalities, including support and guidance to complete medical clearances, mandatory courses and other relevant documentation. • Maintain accurate recruitment records and ensure compliance with UNV policies and procedures. • Liaise with hiring managers to ensure timely submission of required documents. • Facilitate pre-arrival arrangements. • Coordinate the orientation programme for newly recruited UN Volunteers. • Ensure providing copies of contracts and other required documents to hiring manager and his/her team. • Act as a focal point for UN Volunteers serving DHL project throughout their contract period. • Support the UNV Country Coordinator in conducting an onboarding session for UNVs hired under DHL’s project • Provide twice weekly updates on the status of UNVs hired under DHL’s project • Liaise with the DHL team to understand shortlisting requirements and shortlist candidates accordingly

As this is a national UNV assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
UNV Field Unit will help you open a Pak rupee bank account with Standard Chartered Bank or any other local bank at your duty station.
