You have:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in sociology, statistics, demography, geography, economics, public administration, other social science or related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Certification or training in data analysis is desirable.
- A minimum of two years of experience in collecting, researching and analysing data across various areas of social and economic development or related area.
- Proven skills working in Excel and Word.
- Background and experience in development issues is desirable.
- Background and familiarity with statistical data and data analysis is desirable.
- Experience in the United Nations Common System or international organizations is desirable.
- Experience in drafting papers and reports is required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required.
Result of Service The selected candidate will support key actions from the Resident Coordinator's Office work plan, providing reliable research and reports on specifically defined aspects of projects/programmes. He or she will processe work and follows-up, under some supervision, seeking advice and/or reporting to supervisor(s) as needed. Consistently will apply appropriate policies, guidelines and procedures. Effectively and in a timely manner,will liaise and interact with colleagues and concerned parties internally and externally.

Duties and Responsibilities The Individual Contractor will typically work with the data and partnership officers and report to the head of office.
The Coordination and Research Individual Contractor will be responsible for the following duties:
- Researches, extracts and compiles basic information and technical data on specific programmes/ joint projects and issues relating to the Joint Work Plans and the Cooperation Framework.
- Assists in monitoring developments/issues on subjects or areas assigned by collecting, selecting, analysing and compiling materials from multiple sources.
- Assembles original statistical material; adjusts reported data from different sources and load data into computerized database system (UNINFO).
- Assists in the evaluation and examination of data sets for accuracy, clarity and validity.
- Prepares a variety of reports, presentations, tables, lists, graphs, charts and/or diagrams for information and review by senior officers.
- Reviews, stores, classifies, and maintains relevant computerized databases.
- Takes notes and drafts executive summaries of meetings.
- Collects, organizes and disseminates relevant UN and media information.
- Co-ordinates and sets up press briefings, press statements, pamphlets or other public awareness campaigns to educate public on any specific issue.
- Assists in the maintenance of relevant computerized databases.
- Performs other related work as required.
Work implies frequent interaction and effective coordination with the following: Staff within work unit and across the Organization. Officers of Permanent Missions to the UN. Counterparts in other UN agencies. Non-governmental organizations and universities. Delegations.
