You have:
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Demonstrated interest in gender equality and the empowerment of women.
- Experience in the United Nations systems is desirable.
- Field experience is desirable.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
- Demonstrated self-organization and planning skills.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision and within tight deadlines.

Contract
This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.
Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Deputy Country Representative, and in close coordination with the Country Representative, the Coordination and Programme Support Associate will support UN Women’s role in leading inter-agency coordination in support of gender equality and the empowerment of women through the various UN development and humanitarian coordination structures and processes. The Coordination and Programme Support Associate will also provide management, operational, and Project and Programme Implementation Oversight and support to the entire office and support the Deputy Country Representative with the management of the Country Office annual planning and reporting cycle. The Coordination and Programme Support associate will: work with the UNCT Gender Theme Group chaired by UN Women to implement the UN Jordan SWAP Scorecard recommendations and to identify opportunities for joint UN initiatives/programmes; coordinate UN Women’s participation in the UNCT Results Group and support gender mainstreaming in the UNCT Joint Work Plan; support UN Women’s role as co-chair of the UNCT results group on Governance; support the Gender Partners Coordination Group which brings together Development Partners, the head of the National Women's Machinery and the UN to strengthen coordination of international support and financing for GEWE; and work with humanitarian partners to ensure that GEWE is mainstreamed in the Syrian Refugee response in support of the JRP including through the work of the Inter-Sectoral Gender Advisory Team which is co-led by UN Women and UNHCR; work with the Resident Coordinator office which leads the UNCT planning and reporting cycles; work with UN Women’s Jordan Country Office programme, operations and M&E teams.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Country Representative or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will: 1. Provide technical support to the Country Representative and the Jordan Country Office on inter-agency coordination: • Provide technical support to joint inter-agency UN planning processes and similar exercises; • Coordinate the organization of the Gender Theme Group (GTG) meetings and the Gender Partners Coordination Group (GPCG) and act as Secretariat for both groups; • oversee the System Wide Action Plan Gender Equality Score Card annual and comprehensive reviews in partnership with the UN Resident Coordinator Office; • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the SWAP action plan and the GTG annual workplan; • Coordinate GTG inputs into the UNCT planning processes including the CCA, the UNSDCF and the Joint Work Plan developments in partnership with the UN Resident Coordination Office; • Support UN Women’s engagement in the Inter-Sectoral Gender Advisory Team (ISGAT) under the Jordan Strategic Humanitarian Partners Group and its role as co-chair of ISGAT; • Support the organization and secretariat of the UNCT results group on Governance co-chaired by UN Women in partnership with the Assistant Representative, Gender responsive Governance; • Coordinate UN Women’s representation and participation in the UNCT Results Group including UN Women’s inputs in UNCT planning processes including the CCA, the UNSDCF and the Joint Work Plan developments in support of the Deputy Country Representative; • Prepare background and briefing materials for the Country Representative and Deputy Country Representative on issues of coordination to be discussed in the UNCT, JoSH and other events and meetings; • Provide technical support to the Country Office in monitoring and reporting and prepare analytical and regular progress reports on UN Women’s coordination work, as necessary.
Provide support to the Country Representative and Deputy Country Representative in strategic planning for the Jordan Country Office: • Provide substantive inputs on the formulation of concept notes for UN Women's coordination portfolio; as well as the office’s Strategic Note; • Provide inputs to the development of country programming processes and products, including the annual workplan, Strategic Note, and programme/ project documents; the preparation of United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), the UNCT Joint Work Plan and other UN system joint programming documents; • Follow up on required action/outstanding issues and report on outcome/ result. Alert the Country Representative and Deputy Country Representative on critical issues to be addressed.
Provide support to the Deputy Country Representative on office-wide project and programme management and support the strategic alignment and quality assurance efforts: • Support quality control for the effective project management and programme implementation, including programme partner management to ensure smooth workflow and processes for results-based management. • Support the monitoring of project and programme implementation, including programme partner management to ensure adherence to implementation rates and utilization of resources to meet agreed upon targets and results, and keep supervisor informed. • Monitor project and programme implementation exception reports for unusual activities, transactions, and investigates anomalies or unusual transactions. • Analyze and ensure alignment of project and programme budgets with logical framework matrices and work plans in support to results based budgeting and appropriate cost recovery. •Support the provision of technical advice on the corporate requirements and process of project quality assurance mechanisms at the project entry and implementation stages at the country levels.
Provide management, operational, and Project and Programme Implementation Oversight and support: • Contribute to data, information, and analysis on Programmatic areas of the Jordan Country Office for the Regional Quarterly Business Review (QBR). ·• Recommend and establish project and programme monitoring standards, criteria, and other key performance indicators for measuring and assessing progress/results including partner management, leading analysis, and preparing reports. • Provide targeted support and services in support of the programmatic QBR areas. • Systemically undertake monitoring and quarterly project and programme implementation analysis to oversee key donor portfolios. • Facilitate effective information flow, communication and coordination across the office, between programmes, projects and operations, and with other UN Women offices and units. • Support the provision of quality assurance for Project Documents and Donor Agreements prior to approval and signing.
Provide advocacy and communication support to the Jordan Country Office: • Support joint UN advocacy and communications initiatives on issues related to GEEW, including International Women’s Day, the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence and the Women’s Film Week; • Participate in and contribute to dialogues around gender equality and the empowerment of women, as necessary.

Amman, the capital, is a peaceful city with over four million residents. People are friendly to visitors. Services in terms of banking, transportation, health and communications are easily available. Though Arabic is the official language, English is widely spoken among the majority of the population, especially in Amman. Road network is good both in terms of spread and quality of the roads. Public transportation in Amman is limited. Taxis are relatively cheap and easily available. There are a number of shopping malls, restaurants, gyms, and cinemas. A large variety of accommodation options can be found; however, it is worth noting that prices in Amman have generally increased in the past few years. There are no specific security threats. Amman is a very easy city in which to live; large, many amenities, very modern and serviced by an international airport with direct flights to most capital cities. According to the assessment of the UN Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS) Jordan is a family duty station (category A hardship). As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the insurance plan.
