This 2-year position will be hybrid requiring a few days per week in office. You must be based in our office in Washington DC or in London. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

About the Program:

Launched in 2019, Coolfood is unique initiative which brings together a growing number of food service providers, restaurants, retailers, governments, schools, and hospitals, and help them cut their food-related greenhouse gas emissions while serving delicious food. Over the past three years, WRI has been building Coolfood’s foundation. The next phase is to dramatically scale its impact. Currently there are over 80 Coolfood members serving 8 billion meals annually and we have set ourselves the highly ambitious goal of increasing our reach significantly over the coming years. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the world’s leading environmental NGOs and work with a creative and highly motivated team of researchers, marketing, communication, project management, and engagement experts passionate about accelerating a shift towards healthier and more sustainable diets.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to Head of Coolfood membership development, you will be responsible for:

  1. Supporting the delivery of the Coolfood member training experiences (50%) this will include the organization of and delivery of a number of different briefings and workshops. You will work closely with the Head of Coolfood to deliver these experiences
  2. Partnership management (50%) working with a select group of Coolfood members to build relationships and identify how the Coolfood initiative can help them on their sustainability journey. You will be working closely with the Membership Engagement Specialist and Membership Engagement Co-Ordinator, and the Head of Coolfood Membership Development to do this.

What will you do:

Support the delivery of the Coolfood member training experiences (50%):

  • Project manage the delivery of the behaviour change planning process with workshops
  • Briefing member organizations on the behaviour change planning process and the workshops
  • Setting the schedule for preparatory tasks for workshop participants
  • Prepare and distribute pre-reading for workshop participants
  • Manage and co-deliver the workshop content
  • Create and implement a feedback mechanism
  • Co-deliver bespoke behavioral insights where requested by member
  • Deliver prepared Coolfood member training including: Behaviour change, climate impact of food and Coolfood meal certification briefings
  • Deliver prepared content for a Coolfood member audience
  • Review and update content as needed
  • Understand behaviour change technique adoption
  • Capture and documenting behaviour change techniques adoption by member organizations to provide content for the impact report
  • Provide insights to membership team to develop case studies

Partnership management (50%):

  • Manage a select group of Coolfood members, by building relationships and understanding their individual requirements to ensure they make the most of their membership. Work closely with the Coolfood team
  • Renewals process: Ensure that members renew their membership working closely with the Membership team to ensure the smooth running of the membership program. Ensure renewals are at 90% retention levels
  • Onboarding process: Membership onboarding with current members, to make sure members are fully aware of what is included in their membership and how to access membership resources. Ensure your selected group of members start following the Coolfood LinkedIn page
  • Tracking GHG target progress and regular updates: Hold regular check-ins with the selected group of Coolfood members to ensure they are on track toward reducing their GHG targets and they are aware of and understand their membership benefits and Coolfood services available
  • Member resources: Provide members with Coolfood Membership resources and connect them with other members of the Coolfood team when required. Look at ways of members working collaboratively together
  • Identify membership growth opportunities: From building relationships with the selected group of members be able to identify growth opportunities in terms of services, meals, sites, locations, and group businesses and revenue. Identify target priority members to focus on and put an account management plan in place to grow their membership
  • Member events: Attend and network with selected group of Coolfood members at Coolfood and other events
  • Member feedback: Work with the Membership team to refine the membership offer. Proactively highlighting issues and opportunities for offer development following member conversations
  • Case study development: Identify information for case studies of best practice among the selected group of members for sharing with other clients. Work with the Membership Engagement Co-Ordinator to store the information in the central files and keep them up to date

What will you need:

  • Education: You have completed a Bachelor’s degree in business, food and nutrition, environmental science, environmental policy, or another relevant field
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in functions such as project management, partnership/member management, account management, communications, training, or marketing
  • Some technical knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues facing the food sector
  • Direct or indirect experience working with food services or food industry welcomed
  • Passionate for tackling climate change
  • Experience of creating and delivering engaging training content for online or in-person training audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated, inquisitive, and proactive and has experience of membership or partnership management
  • Experience of using Asana, Salesforce, and LinkedIn and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • An impactful communicator with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner; excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and be able to think creatively and innovatively
  • Excellent planner and organizer
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced working environment, both independently and as part of a global team across time zones, so may need to be flexible with working hours on an occasional basis
  • Languages: Professional fluency in English is required

Potential Salary: US salary range is between 69K and 73K USD. UK: 38k - 45k GBP. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
