This UNV assignment is part of the 2023 Humanitarian context in Gaza.

Under the direct supervision of the Head of External Relations Services, the UN Volunteer will: • Compiles donor projections, trends and analysis and answers donors and Finance Department queries; supports accurate and timely recording of pledges and receipts and ensures timely donor contribution reporting across systems. • Manages and maintains the Contributions systems, including the Grant Management Module in REACH System, Zoho (on-line contributions database), PowerBi and Sales Force database; liaises with the IMTD to ensure meeting Agency and donors reporting requirements. • Provides the Department of Planning with overall contributions, statistics and analyses; advises on contributions received; liaises with all parties on incoming contributions, ensures accurate recording of payments, outstanding pledges and financial status; supports the Contributions Office team in the monthly and annual closure for Finance Department and ERCD reports. • Supervises data analyses preparation and reconciliation processes for contributions data and provides recommendations to modify records, where necessary; verifies validity of contribution tables and graphs, in addition to updating cashflow and projections. • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

(At least five years) finance/budget and accountancy. Experience with database packages, queries, data import/export and producing reports, spread sheet applications and ability to write macro functions and perform statistical analysis. A recognized first-level degree with an additional two years of experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. • Other desired/mandatory required technical knowledge • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; •Sound security awareness; • Have affinity with or interest in, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.

Amman, the capital, is a peaceful city with over four million residents. People are friendly to visitors. Services in terms of banking, transportation, health and communications are easily available. Though Arabic is the official language, English is widely spoken among the majority of the population, espe-cially in Amman. Road network is good both in terms of spread and quality of the roads. Public transportation in Amman is limited. Taxis are relatively cheap and easily available. There are a number of shopping malls, restaurants, gyms, and cinemas. A large variety of accommodation options can be found; however, it is worth noting that prices in Amman have generally increased in the past few years. There are no specific security threats. Amman is a very easy city in which to live; large, many amenities, very modern and serviced by an international airport with direct flights to most capital cit-ies. According to the assessment of the UN Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS) Jordan is a family duty station (category A hardship). As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the insurance plan.
