This is a G-5 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 5 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-5 contracts.

Under the close supervision and guidance of the Operations Officer, the Programme Assistant in the Programme Operations Hub (POH) will be responsible for consultancy contracts transactions implementation in compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.

How can you make a difference?

  • Support in consultancy contracts transactions implementation
  • Draft and advertise Consultant Vacancy Announcements on Talent Management System (TMS)
  • Collate required documents for contract creations/amendment/closure from the consultants and programme
  • Assist with contract creation uploading documents to the PO into VISION, sending the PO for release, and for signatures via DocuSign
  • Submit MDM forms to GSSC to create vendor numbers; update vendor records or update the contract validity.
  • Submit cases to CRC for review and clearance as per UNICEF Rules and Regulations
  • Responding to queries regarding the status of the contract creation and for further clarification in case of any discrepancies.
  • Process contract amendments/closure
  • Responds to inquiries from GSSC, Consultants and Programme Teams
  • Guide consultants in submitting their invoices to GSSC
  • Maintain CIC Monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

General office support

  • Drafting and/or processing a variety of correspondence and other communications
  • Scheduling appointments and meetings
  • Performed other duties, as required

To qualify as a champion for every child, the candidate must have…

  • Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work, or another relevant technical field is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional work experience in office management, administrative or clerical work experience is required.
  • Experience within UNICEF or other international organization desirable.
  • Prior experience in programme support functions is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of UNICEF administrative policies and procedures is desired.
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritizing skills and abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Training and experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other UNICEF software such as SharePoint
  • Strong office management skills are highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF.

UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
