The purpose of role:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Content Writer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in crafting compelling and impactful content that supports our mission and amplifies the voices of the communities we serve. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a diverse range of internal and external communications materials, including:

  • Marketing and fundraising materials: website content, brochures, email campaigns, grant proposals, etc.
  • Internal communications: intranet content, annual reports, etc.
  • Social media content: engaging posts, stories, captions, and tweets across various platforms.
  • Blog posts and other thought leadership content: sharing our expertise and insights on child development, poverty alleviation, and related issues.

Job Description:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with World Vision India's objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Conduct research and gather information from various sources to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Write clear, concise, and compelling content in various formats and styles, tailoring it to different audiences and communication channels.
  • Manage content production timelines and workflows efficiently.
  • Collaborate with various departments (programmes, fundraising, sponsorship, corporate) to gather stories, information, and feedback.
  • Work closely with designers and vendors to ensure consistency and quality in execution.
  • Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and accuracy.

  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in content marketing and digital communication.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new content marketing initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Communications or a related field. Master's degree preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a content writer, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
  • Excellent writing skills in English, with a strong ability to tailor writing style and tone to different audiences.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing content strategies across various channels.
  • Experience with writing for social media platforms.
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS) and design tools is preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in basic editing techniques.
  • Passion for World Vision's mission and commitment to social impact.
