Overview

Support communications and digital presence for WVSI.

You have:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in communications, content production, journalism or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Media, Digital Media, Creative Arts or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills across a range of formats (stories, press releases, reports, social media captions).
  • Demonstrated skills in photography, videography and video editing, including production of short films or multimedia content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Adobe Photoshop for photo and video editing.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of local languages in Solomon Islands is an advantage.

The Content & Digital Coordinator supports the Communications & Advocacy Manager in delivering high-quality communications content and maintaining WVSI's digital presence. The role is the primary content producer for WVSI — responsible for hands-on creation of stories, photos, videos and digital content that brings WVSI's work to life for internal and external audiences. The Content & Digital Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Communications Focal Points network across all Area Development Programs and Honiara-based sector teams, and works within the WVSI Communications Plan and Communications Business Process to ensure a consistent, child-safe and brand-compliant pipeline of content across all channels.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum 2–3 years' experience in communications, content production, journalism or a related field.

· Demonstrated skills in photography, videography and video editing, including production of short films or multimedia content.

· Demonstrated ability to manage social media platforms professionally, including content scheduling and analytics.

· Experience working with NGOs or humanitarian/development organisation’s is an advantage.

· Knowledge of local languages in Solomon Islands is an advantage.

· Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Media, Digital Media, Creative Arts or a related field.

· Or equivalent professional experience

· Strong writing and editing skills across a range of formats (stories, press releases, reports, social media captions).

· Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Adobe Photoshop for photo and video editing.

· Proficiency in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for design work.

· Familiarity with Hootsuite, and social media scheduling and analytics tools.

· Familiarity with Meltwater or similar media monitoring tools is an advantage.

· Good understanding of the development and humanitarian context in Solomon Islands.

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage respectfully with communities, including children.

· Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

· Attention to detail and high level of professionalism.
