You have:
- Master's degree in communications and marketing, international/public relations, journalism or related fields.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in communications and developing content related to sustainable development and related fields.
- Understanding of sustainable development, nature restoration and related fields is preferable.
- Demonstrated strong written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to generate content that grabs and holds audiences' attention.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively, precisely, and autonomously in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing tasks across teams.
- Works harmoniously in international teams, openness and flexibility, and ability to integrate feedback.
- Prior experience working with international organizations is desirable.
- Fluency English is required for this position. Knowledge of other UN languages is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the world's foremost authority on environmental issues, providing leadership and fostering partnerships to promote sustainable development. UNEP inspires and empowers nations and communities to enhance their quality of life while safeguarding the needs of future generations. Within UNEP’s Climate Change Division, the Cities Unit plays a pivotal role in advancing the UN's strategy on sustainable urban development and supporting the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. The Unit coordinates the Generation Restoration project (2023-2025), which aims to implement a package of measures to address selected political, technical, financial challenges to promote restoration at scale, particularly in urban areas, within the framework of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, the UNEA resolution on nature-based solutions and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The project works with 24 cities in 19 countries advancing the implementation of urban and peri-urban nature restoration. Cities Unit is looking for a consultant to support the Generation Restoration project, more specifically to support the development of a digital platform content that captures key knowledge, case studies, lessons learned, and recommendation based on the experience of Generation Restoration project.
