Duties and Responsibilities This consultancy assignment is with the United Nations Global Compact Office (UNGCO), located in the Global Operations Team in China.

The United Nations Global Compact is the United Nations' voluntary corporate sustainability initiative in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. It revolves around ten universal principles drawn from four key international instruments in these areas.

The Global Compact Office is the United Nations entity responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Global Compact initiative. It pursues two complementary objectives: (1) making the Global Compact and its principles part of business strategy and operations everywhere; and (2) facilitating cooperation among key stakeholders by promoting partnerships and collective action in support of United Nations, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Responsibilities:

- Draft a workplan, review the workplan on a regular basis to determine how the project is progressing in terms of schedule and budget, and make timely adjustments.

- Collaborate closely with the report writer, event organizer and IT consultant throughout the whole project to design and develop a digital platform to showcase the best practice in a visually engaging and user-friendly way.

- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the project objectives, relevant research findings, stakeholder needs, the BRI, and SDGs to inform the development of the digital platform.

- Design the overall layout, structure, and user interface of the digital platform, taking into account the principles of good web design, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.

- Develop and implement a content strategy to present the best practice in a clear, concise, and compelling manner, using a variety of multimedia formats such as text, graphics, images, and videos.

- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to illustrate the design and functionality of the digital platform, and solicit feedback from relevant consultants and stakeholders to refine and improve the design.

- Ensure the digital platform is fully functional and accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, by adhering to relevant web accessibility standards and guidelines.

- Work closely with the IT specialist to ensure the smooth integration of the digital platform with the IT infrastructure of the project, including data management systems, databases, and servers.

- Collaborate with the report writer through consultation meetings to ensure that the content on the digital platform is aligned with the report, and reflects the project’s overall objectives and messaging.

- Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the digital platform to assess its impact, effectiveness, and user engagement, and make recommendations for improvements based on the findings.

- Prepare regular progress reports, updates, or presentations on the project progress and calibrate with corrective actions whenever needed to ensure the project timeline is strictly followed.

- Summarize the meeting minutes and recordings of the organized activities and events, including but not limited to consultations, dialogues, interviews, and training.

- Archive and update all the developed materials in an efficient and well-organized manner.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the project manager to support the successful implementation of the project.

Qualifications/special skills First level university degree in business administration, management, economics, international relations, or a related field is required. An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) is desirable. A minimum of 10 years of experience in programme/project management related to business/corporate sustainability/website design/social media content development is required. Experience in website content development and design, with a focus on data visualization, user experience design, and web accessibility standards, is desirable. Experience in developing and managing digital platforms, preferably in the context of international organizations or research projects, is desirable. Experience in conducting research and designing surveys or questionnaires is desirable. Experience with data analysis is desirable.

Languages Fluency in English and Chinese is required.
