La malnutrition est un problème de santé publique au Togo. Elle entraîne des conséquences sur le développement, la croissance de l’enfant et compromet l’expression de son fort potentiel plus tard dans la vie. Cette situation est exacerbée d’une part par la conjoncture mondiale qui a occasionnée une augmentation générale des prix des denrées alimentaires et d’autre part par le débordement de la crise sécuritaire du Sahel surtout dans la région des Savanes.

How can you make a difference?

• Apporter un appui pour la prise en charge communautaire de la MAS dans la région des Savanes
• Apporter un appui à la prévention de la malnutrition aigüe dans la région des Savanes à travers la supplémentation des enfants de 6-23 mois en SQ-LNS.
• Apporter un appui technique et opérationnel au ministère de la Santé Publique, de l’Hygiène et de l’accès universel aux soins pour le renforcement de la supplémentation en vitamine A chez les enfants de 6-59 mois en routine
• Apporter un appui pour le renforcement de la nutrition maternelle à travers la supplémentation des femmes enceintes en micronutriments multiples (MMS) et en fer/acide folique
• En collaboration avec la GIZ/PROSECAL apporter un appui à la task force multisectorielle de nutrition pour l’organisation d’un forum national de haut niveau sur la Nutrition

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• Minimum Bac +5 (Master, DEA, PhD) en nutrition, Santé Publique, Médecine ou tout autre domaine pertinent
• Expérience d’au moins 7 ans dans le domaine de la nutrition infantile et maternelle
• Bonne maîtrise des programmes de supplémentation en vitamine A au Togo
• Bonne connaissance du système de santé au Togo
• Une bonne connaissance des méthodologies de recherches opérationnelles en nutrition humaine serait un atout
• Bonne maitrise du français. une bonne connaissance en anglais est un atout

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
