La malnutrition est un problème de santé publique au Togo. Elle entraîne des conséquences sur le développement, la croissance de l’enfant et compromet l’expression de son fort potentiel plus tard dans la vie. Cette consultation vise à renforcer l’environnement favorable à la nutrition, la prise en charge de la malnutrition aigüe sévère au niveau communautaire et à améliorer la diversité alimentaire des enfants de 6-23 mois.

How can you make a difference?

  • Elaboration d’une note méthodologique et un plan de travail
  • Apporter un appui technique à la mise en place des groupes de soutien à l’ANJE dans les Savanes
  • Appuyer la prise en charge de la malnutrition aigüe sévère au niveau communautaire par les ASC (région des Savanes),
  • Apporter un appui technique et opérationnel au ministère de la Santé pour la mise en oeuvre de l’initiative formations sanitaires amies des bébés (IFSAB) au Togo
  • Apporter une assistance technique à la task force multisectorielle de renforcement de la nutrition pour l’identification d’au moins un champion national pour la nutrition
  • Apporter un appui technique pour le développement des normes de qualité pour les aliments de compléments en lien avec la norme WHO 69.9
  • Apporter un appui technique pour la mise en place d’un système de labelling de type « Nutri-score » pour les aliments de compléments commercialisés

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Minimum Bac +5 (Master, DEA, PhD) en nutrition, sciences alimentaires, Santé Publique ou tout autre domaine pertinent. Avoir un PhD serait un atout.
  • Expérience d’au moins 10 ans dans le domaine de la nutrition infantile et maternelle
  • Bonne connaissance des programmes d’allaitement à l’instar de l’Initiative Hôpitaux Amies des Bébés
  • Expérience avérée dans la mise en oeuvre d’interventions d'amélioration de l’alimentation complémentaire chez les enfants de 6-23 mois
  • Bonne connaissance des processus d’élaboration des normes de qualité et de labellisation des produits alimentaires
  • Bonne capacité de rédaction en français et en anglais

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
