Result of Service - Fully developed network of at least 50 student organizations under the scope of the PGS Initiative - Fully developed governance structure for PGS, including a well-functioning and geographically representative team of core student regional leader to raise the profile of PRME and youth engagement across regions - Clear and comprehensive PGS Action Plan with set objective, deliverables and milestones, including a portfolio of at least five strategic projects and workstreams - Successfully organized PGS session and engagement at the 2022 PRME Global Forum, as well as integration of PGS activities across key PRME-related events (e.g. Global Forum, Global Chapter Forum, Regional Meetings, etc). - Comprehensive report on youth engagement and leadership across the PRME community to be included in the 2022 PRME Annual Report. - Successfully implemented invoicing process plan as part of the new PRME Signatory Model.

Duties and Responsibilities This consultancy assignment is with the United Nations Global Compact Office (UNGCO) in New York.

The United Nations Global Compact is the United Nations' voluntary corporate sustainability initiative in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. It revolves around ten universal principles drawn from four key international instruments in these areas. The Global Compact Office is the United Nations entity responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Global Compact initiative. It pursues two complementary objectives: (1) making the Global Compact and its principles part of business strategy and operations everywhere; and (2) facilitating cooperation among key stakeholders by promoting partnerships and collective action in support of United Nations, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is the driving force behind engaging business and management-related Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with the work of the United Nations Global Compact Office. With a reach to over 860 HEIs and over three million students, the PRME initiative holds a huge potential to accelerate the mission of the UNGCO through the development of sustainability minded and skilled business leaders, subject matter experts and cutting-edge research and education tailored for business executives. A clear PRME strategic direction and a robust governance structure in relation to the strategic priorities of the UNGCO are essential for the success and impact of the PRME initiative.

Duties and responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer responsible for PRME of UNGCO, the consultant would be tasked with the following tasks and responsibilities related to the PRME Global Students (PGS) Initiative:

Programmatic - Develop and operationalize PRME’s newest strategic initiative on youth leadership – the PRME Global Students (PGS) – a global network by and for students within PRME. - Manage the PGS Regional Leaders Team with nine student representatives worldwide in all continents and global sub-regions (Latin America, North America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East, South and Central Asia, East and Southeast Asia, and Oceania) - Map out sustainability-oriented student organizations operating within the PRME community and actively engaged at least 50 of them with PGS activities and work. - Plan and implement the PGS Programmatic Development Process: o Conceptualize, plan, and conduct the PGS Research Phase through dozens of interviews, institutional presentations, and twelve focus group sessions with worldwide participants. o Conceptualize, plan, and conduct the PGS Design Phase through organizing collaborative Design Thinking Labs with participants worldwide. - Lead the collaborative definition of the PGS Portfolio and develop at least five strategic projects to be implemented in 2022, such as for example: PGS Talks, Measuring Impact Committee, Careers Program, Social Media Channels, Student Ambassador Program, PGS Newsletter, and Student Voice at the PRME Blog. These projects would be developed and implemented under the consultant’s supervision by student-led Global Taskforces comprised of the PGS Regional Leaders and dozens of student contributors from all continents. - Develop the Governance and Operational Structure of the PGS Portfolio. - Organize the official launch of PGS at the 2022 PRME Global Forum in New York on 3-4 June 2022 - Consolidate a report on the PGS Strategic Planning for Programmatic Development and Governance. - Align relevant concepts and engagement opportunities of PGS with the existing workstreams and programs of PRME (e.g., Regional Chapters, Working Groups, Blog, etc.). - Perform other PRME and PGS related task that may arise throughout his work at the UN Global Compact Office in New York.

Administrative - Coordinate the invoicing process as part of the new PRME Signatory Model which introduced mandatory annual fees for PRME Signatory Members. - Represent PRME in meetings with Signatories from Brazil and Latin America when necessary. - Support with editing and visual/graphic design tasks for various PRME materials (e.g. Annual Report, publications, etc.) - Support the rollout of the PRME Carbon Literacy Training sessions across the PRME community. - Supported the development of PRME’S Partnerships & Fundraising strategy. - Supported regional PRME Chapters related work.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: First-level university degree in social sciences or public administration is required. Master level university degree in public administration is desirable. Experience: A minimum 4 years of experience in areas of Youth Engagement and/or Talent Management is required.

Experience in conceptualizing and conducting research is required.

Experience administering or managing projects related to youth and education is desirable.

Experience with events organizing is desirable.

Experience with drafting reports is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
