The Education Sector provides global and regional leadership in education, strengthens education systems, and responds to contemporary global challenges through education. The UNESCO Antenna Office in Yangon is committed to enhancing the quality of education delivery by strengthening the capacities of teachers. To this end, UNESCO office has launched the Myanmar Teacher Platform, and currently, online courses on Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (EPSD), Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Curriculum and Pedagogy, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Media and Information Literacy (MIL), Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Inclusive Education (IE) are available for teachers/educators to take self-study online/offline courses regardless of their location and available time. In addition to this, teachers are provided with virtual trainings and webinars on relevant topics. UNESCO also emphasizes the right to quality education for all, including disabled students. To ensure the right to Education for All, teachers' knowledge on the use of learning-friendly practices that help children with disabilities achieve their full potential becomes a prerequisite. An online course on how to successfully teach children with disabilities without compromising quality can offer teachers the holistic, practical means to make schools and classrooms more inclusive, learner-friendly, and gender-sensitive. Therefore, UNESCO Antenna office in Yangon is now seeking a potential candidate to create video lessons for the following online course: Module 4: Inclusive Education for Visual Impairment (7 video lessons) Module 5: Inclusive Education for Hearing Impairment (7 video lessons) The video lessons will cover the topics as mentioned in the following table. There will be a total of 14 videos, with a maximum length of 6 minutes per video. Long Description ---------------- Module 4 – Inclusive Education for Visual Impairment Module 5 – Inclusive Education for Hearing Impairment 1. Introduction to visual impairment: Types and causes of visual impairment, visual development of the child aged (0-10 years). 2. Characteristics, psychology and Difficulties of total vision loss children in the classroom. 3. Supporting techniques of total visually impaired children in the regular classroom. 4. Characteristics, psychology and difficulties of partial vision loss children in the classroom. 5. Supporting techniques of partial visually impaired in the regular classroom. 6. Concept and techniques for curriculum plus skills (orientation and mobility, daily living skill, sensory training). 7. Experience of teachers who have taught visually impaired children in the mainstreaming school. 1. Understanding deafness compared to new insights into hearing impairment and the nature of individual deaf person. 2. Causes and types of hearing impairment and type of hearing-impaired children that are commonly found in mainstreaming school. 3. Important of early identification and intervention, how to access the children those who have hearing impairment compared to the normal children in the young age (0-10 years). 4. Total communication and how to use sign language to communicate with hearing impaired children. 5. Supporting techniques of hearing impaired children in the regular classroom through inclusive ways (preparing individual education plan, communication using sign languages gestures, meme and sign languages), utilizing of assistive technology and devices incorporating of visual aids multimedia resources for effective teaching, how to create barrier-free environment, how to support in the exam, collaboration with teachers and parents). 6. Successful experience of the teachers who have taught partially deaf students in wear hearing aids as regular classroom. 7. Successful experience of the teachers who have taught totally deaf students in mainstream classroom. Long Description ---------------- Under the overall authority of the Regional Director of UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok (hereinafter called UNESCO), the direct supervision of UNESCO Antenna Office in Yangon and in close collaboration with Education Team, the Contractor shall specifically perform the following: 1.1 Provide video editing/production service by following the requirements as listed below: a. Meet with the UNESCO team and technical expert to fully understand the concept and scope of the educational videos. Obtain accurate data and course content/scripts necessary for the video creation process; b. Streamline UNESCO’s gender strategy, ensure the Guidelines on Gender-Neutral Language is applied throughout the videos (https://unesdoc.unesco.org/ark:/48223/pf0000377299) and it’s advisable to include both male and female in the shooting frame; c. Embed video subtitle into open-captioned subtitles; d. Based on available content and script and aligning with desired objectives and primary target audience, propose a creative concept and prepare an outline for the video. Finalise the concept on the basis of feedback from UNESCO; e. Propose script and storyboard once the concept and script have been validated by UNESCO. Revise and resubmit as necessary, based on feedback from UNESCO; f. Propose additional relevant photography and/or video footage/illustration/graphic to complete the video where relevant and/or necessary (secure the permission by using Grant of Rights form to be provided by UNESCO); g. Propose a choice of potential narrators for UNESCO’s selection (preferably, a young female/female, etc.) and a sample of voice-over work from the past projects and secure the authorization from the narrator on behalf of UNESCO by using the consent form; h. Suggest a choice of background music to UNESCO and obtain necessary usage rights on the final choice (Grant of Rights form to be provided by UNESCO); i. Include the UNESCO video outro: https://trello.com/c/ieHy4KQR/74-english if UNESCO is the only party involved in the project; j. Use standard video editing software most suitable for the production and finalize in the later stages of development. Recommended software includes Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro; k. Secure the intellectual property rights using Grant of Rights form when any photo, illustration, music and icon is used as part of video and is not provided by UNESCO; l. Ensure that the video is in full compliance with the international copyrights policy to avoid any illegal consequence as outline in the ‘general terms and conditions’ which annexed in this contract; m. Submit the first round of the 14 videos with subtitles in HD SD format and SRT files with comments and notes (if required) to UNESCO for review and feedback; n. Incorporate suggested changes and finalize video subtitles and SRT files as needed; o. Submit ready-to-publish MP4 file (HD format), SRT file and the editable source/master file (including video graphic files) of 14 video for archiving; and p. Submit the first round of the 7 videos and SRT files (module 4) as specified in item 1.1 (m) and 1.2 to the UNESCO for reviewing on or before 19 July 2024. b. Submit the final 7 videos and SRT files (including source/master file and video graphic file) as specified in item 1.1 (o) and 1.2 to the UNESCO for approval on or before 31 July 2024. c. Submit the first round of the 7 videos and SRT files (module 5) as specified in item 1.1 (m) and 1.2 to the UNESCO for reviewing on or before 30 August 2024. d. Submit the final 7 videos and SRT files (including source/master file and video graphic file) as specified in item 1.1 (o) and 1.2 to the UNESCO for approval on or before 16 September 2024.
