Contract

This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, Education

Education Cannot Wait (ECW) is the first global movement and fund dedicated to education in emergencies and protracted crises. It was established in 2016 during the World Humanitarian Summit by international humanitarian and development aid organisations, along with public and private donors, to help reposition education as a priority on the humanitarian agenda, usher in a more collaborative approach among actors on the ground and foster additional funding to ensure that every crisis-affected child and young person is in school and learning.

Education Cannot Wait is hosted by UNICEF. The Fund is administered under UNICEF’s financial, human resources and administrative rules and regulations, while operations are run by the Fund’s own independent governance structure.

The consultant will be reporting directly to the Chief, Finance and Operations.

How can you make a difference?

To date, ECW has mobilised 1.1Bn USD and made disbursements to some 350 grant agreements in over 40 countries. As a hosted fund, ECW can draw on UNICEFs financial management system as the backbone for financial registrations. To meet the wider constituency’s request for insight into ECW financial data, the UNICEF data has so far been modelled in Excel sheets. However, as the number of the grants and complexity of financial allocations continue to increase, ECW is in transition to a SharePoint based system which structure the administration of data in a way that allows for greater volume, sharing of tasks and ensuring that data can be integrated into the ECW webpage.

To support the transition to a SharePoint based financial data system, ECW Finance and Operations Section is in search of a consultant who would assist in transitioning financial data to the SharePoint system, establishing automated workflows for data entry and file organization, ensure adequate and precise description of workflows and inform the development of dashboards and presentation pages. The consultant will also support in entering and cleaning data, organizing files and answering specific requests related to ECW financial data.
