Overview

Develop a user-friendly and expandable Power BI dashboard for humanitarian analysis.

You have:

  • Advanced research-based University degree in information management/technology, computer science, data science/analytics, geographic information systems, statistics, software engineering, or related field.
  • 10 years senior level experience in information management, data analytics, software engineering and development of similar data platforms is required.
  • Proven experience in data analytics, information management and software engineering.
  • Proven experience in Power BI, DAX and ETL.
  • Training or coursework in database management, data integration, or humanitarian information systems.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian coordination structures (e.g., OCHA, clusters) is a strong asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

This consultancy will be delivered fully remotely and the consultant will: Collaborate closely with OCHA, the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO), sectoral Information Management (IM) teams, clusters, and partners to gather and refine technical and programmatic requirements. Design and establish a sustainable data and information flow system to ensure timely and accurate update of linked visual products. Develop and maintain a Power BI-based dashboard using existing 3W, monitoring, needs assessment, and indicator datasets, ensuring alignment with humanitarian and BHN priorities. Ensure the platform is user-friendly, interactive, and flexible, with the capacity to expand to include funding data, results reporting, and other relevant datasets. Integrate data visualization tools that enable effective planning, gap analysis, decision-making, and reporting across humanitarian and BHN activities. Conduct testing, validation, and quality assurance of the dashboard in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure reliability and accuracy. Provide comprehensive user documentation, training materials, and capacity-building session for the IM team, to ensure sustainable use and management. Support troubleshooting, user support, and refinement of the platform based on user feedback and evolving needs for 5 non-consecutive working days, over a period of 1 calendar month after completion of the project. Ensure the inclusion of disaggregated data (e.g., sex, age, disability) in analysis and reporting. Develop a clear handover and maintenance plan to manage and update the system in the long term.

Qualifications/special skills

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this assignment fluency in English is required.
