Overview

Design and develop software solutions for UNRWA in Gaza.

You have:

  • University degree or master's degree in information technology, information management, computer science, or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT and Software Development, or related experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in developing web applications using ASP.NET and MS SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with VB.NET or C# is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server required.
  • Experience in implementing multi-user systems.
  • Experience or knowledge of HTML, AJAX, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in MS TFS or Azure DevOps.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Work Location Gaza

Expected duration 6 to11 months

Duties and Responsibilities ¿ Developing web applications using ASP.NET, C#, and other related technologies. ¿ create and implementing features, modules, and functionalities based on project requirements. ¿ Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices. ¿ Conducting unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve any issues or bugs in the code. ¿ Integrating databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL, with ASP.NET applications. ¿ Designing and optimizing database schema, writing queries, and ensuring data integrity and security. ¿ Creating technical documentation, including specifications, user guides, and project documentation. ¿ Documenting code changes, features, and functionality for future reference and knowledge sharing. ¿ Diagnose and resolve issues reported by users or clients. ¿ Providing technical support and troubleshooting guidance to resolve application-related problems. ¿ Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications:

A university degree or master's degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines;

Experience:

¿ A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT and Software Development, or related experience. ¿ Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in developing web applications using ASP.NET and MS SQL Server, including proficiency in WCF, Web APIs, and .NET framework. Familiarity with either VB.NET or C# is required. ¿ Experience in Microsoft SQL Server.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

¿ Experience in implementing multi-user systems. ¿ Experience or knowledge of HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, object-oriented analysis, and design. ¿ Experience in MS TFS or Azure DevOps ¿ Experience in rigorous testing and validation

Competencies:

¿ Good communications skills. ¿ Training skills and ability to make clear presentations. ¿ Team spirit and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. ¿ Ability to coordinate the work with others. ¿ Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Language:

¿ Fluent in spoken and written English.

Service Conditions:

¿ The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds. ¿ Remuneration for this consultancy will be USD 1,164.30, depending on fund availability, qualifications, and relevant experience. ¿ The incumbent will be only in Gaza.

Additional Information UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking ASP.net Software Developer who will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions in HQG IT Service Center or supporting software development projects at UNRWA HQ Amman.

The consultant will report administratively and technically to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarter Gaza.
