Overview

You have:
- A degree in communications, journalism, social sciences or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in simultaneous translation Thai and English languages.
- High level and outstanding spoken and translating Thai and English language.
- Demonstrated experience in simultaneous translating Thai and English language via online tools such as Zoom, etc.
- Prior work experience with UN agencies and UNICEF style are desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and flexible attitude is desirable.
- Familiar with children’s issues or social issues will be a plus.
- Consultant based in Bangkok is also preferable.

How can you make a difference?
The Programme Coordination Section, UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking a consultant - simultaneous translator (English to Thai, Thai to English) to support translation during workshop/meetings.
Work Assignment: Simultaneous translator English to Thai, Thai to English languages.
Work Schedule****: Each time a particular translator is contracted from the roster, a detailed work schedule will be established with clear deliverable, time frames and supervision arrangements. The tasks will however fall under the broad categories according to needs by any section in the UNICEF.
Duration of Contract: Consultants will be given a contract for specific work assignments for any given time but no more than 11.5 months.
Working Location: Depending on the nature of the assignment, the consultant is free to work in places where it will be most convenient to achieve the tasks of the consultancy. The consultant is expected to provide his/her own computer for the assignment.
Official Travel Involved: Travel may require for some specific assignments upon agreement with hiring office.
