Support platform services for IT operations within UN agencies
You have:
- A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in relevant fields such as information technology, information management, or computer science.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience for a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years for a master’s degree in Windows/Linux Server Administration and systems support in large environments.
- Expert in Windows Server patching technologies and best practices using WSUS, SCCM, and SCOM monitoring.
- Experience in Directory Services components, such as Active Directory, GPO, FSMO roles, DNS and DHCP.
- Knowledge of Linux systems (Red Hat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, CentOS) and Linux management tools (e.g. Red Hat Satellite, RH IDM).
- Experience with common Linux services (Apache, MySQL, SMB, postfix).
- Knowledge of PowerShell and scripting.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting OS and communication issues (TCP/IP).
- Experience with reporting and monitoring tools.
- Good knowledge of networking protocols.
- Experience in Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience with automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; good level of Spanish is an advantage.
- Excellent planning and organized skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment.
- High level of personal integrity and ability to handle confidential matters professionally.
- A high degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities - Ensure continuous operation of the operating systems and directory services in ICC Data Centers and partners' operations. - Manage and maintain OS standard configurations (Windows/Linux/Unix) and enhancements, as well as assist with the resolution of incidents and problems as a part of ISO 20000 established processes. - Final testing and deployment of operating systems, underlying services, and solutions, as well as all related technical documentation. - Provide ongoing support to ICC Unix/Linux/Windows environment and related services and participate in the automation projects and tasks for ICC and Partners. - Provide other ad hoc support as required.
Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines;

Contract Conditions: - The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds. - Remuneration for this consultancy will be1600.00 USD, depending on the fund availability, qualifications, and relevant experience. - The incumbent can be in any UNRWA field of operations (Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, or West Bank).

United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) is a UN agency that provides IT services to other UN agencies on a cost-recovery basis.
UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a platform administrator responsible for supporting the global operations of platform services hosted at UNICC Data Centre and partners. The selected candidate will join the T2 platform operations team of UNICC.
The consultant will report administratively to the Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarters Gaza and report technically to United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC).
