Duties and Responsibilities
As part of a UNPRPD-funded project, OHCHR’s Human Rights and Disability Unit will develop the Disability Inclusive Care and Support systems: training package. The training package includes two sets of materials to assist trainers to deliver in-person training sessions and online webinars, each organized in three modules reflecting the latest standards on care and support systems. The three modules are: 1. The care agenda 2. Support and care systems 3. Policy priorities For the in-person training materials this will include: • An introductory section including overall methodological guidance, an explanation of the purpose, proposed audience and guidance to trainers to design, organize, deliver and evaluate each module; • The three above-mentioned modules, following a coherent and consistent structure and including trainer’s notes in line with OHCHR’s methodology and practice (formulation of learning objectives, etc.) as well as group activities that meet relevant learning objectives and are in line with OHCHR’s methodology, as contained in From Planning to Impact: A Manual on Human Rights Training Methodology. The consultant will develop the in-person material. Upon contract extension: The consultant will also support the development of the online webinars to be developed by a second consultant. The consultant will also participate in two in-person validation missions, 1 in Africa and 1 in Latin America, travel expenses and DSA to be covered separately.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law or other disciplines related to Public Policy At least 7 years of experience in human rights education.
Languages
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Spanish is desired.
