How can you make a difference?

UNICEF East Asia Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) is seeking an individual consultant to support the EAP Regional Health/HIV team: (i) coordinate the preparations for this regional Health/HIV network meeting (including coordination of the technical preparation, administrative and logistics, point of contact for the country offices, preparation of meeting materials), as necessary, (ii) facilitate the meeting and finally (iii) ensure that a report of key discussion and action points is available immediately after meeting for further follow-up.

The main purpose of this consultancy is to work closely with each of the programme areas of MNCH, Immunization, and HIV/AIDS to support the team in successfully completing the regional networking meeting and ensure creative, participatory and engaging sessions. Specifically, the consultant will:

• Collect inputs from Regional Adviser/Specialists, develop the meeting programme based on inputs, solicit inputs from country offices and finalize the overall programme;

• Undertake analysis of data and support preparation of tables, graphs, summary papers, presentations and other original documents on selected key areas as inputs to the meeting;

• Prepare and conduct team building activities during the network meeting to foster development of positive professional relationships, boost team performance, foster innovation and enhance communication strategies between COs/RO.

• Coordinate/manage the logistics arrangements for the meeting;

• Serve as overall facilitator throughout the meeting to maintain timeliness and flow of sessions, and compile final materials and presentations;

• Synthesize each day’s activities and learnings to prepare daily summary reports and consolidate discussions and actions from the rapporteur into meeting report; and

• Prepare and implement a meeting evaluation form/survey for network meeting participants, summarize findings, and make recommendations for future meetings.

Some of the key issues/areas of focus will be identified by the Regional Adviser/Specialists and analysis of available data is to support presentation of these issues or areas in the meeting. This consultancy is proposed for 30 working days over a 3-month period, starting on 15th March, through mid-June.

  1. Pre-meeting preparation

Coordinate with session leads and country teams on their roles and responsibilities, and methodology for each session and prepare an evaluation form to be used across sessions.

  1. Convene prep meetings with RO health team and with the CO facilitators, and presenters to prepare and provide guidance/templates for each session
  2. Develop an evaluation form/survey to give to participants at the end of the meeting

Mid-April

  1. Meeting & facilitation

Obtain inputs from all facilitators, presenters etc., consolidate all materials for all participants, support facilitation, and support/guide co facilitators, presenters and participants before and during the meeting; ensure daily summary of highlights and keeping records of meeting proceedings and discussions

End April

  1. Reporting

Consolidate discussions and agreed actions into one document for wide dissemination

Within 2 weeks after the meeting

Duration of Contract: 15 March 2023 – 15 June 2023 (30 working days)

Duty Travel: Travel to Bangkok for 2 weeks.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• Technical knowledge in Primary Health Care in region

a. Degree in public health, social sciences, medical sciences or related field

• Experience as meeting facilitator

a. At least five years of experience in health programme and with experience in organizing/facilitating major learning and advocacy events

• Experience in report writing

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
