You have:

  • University degree (bachelors) in Information Management, Social Science or other related field.
  • Minimum four years of experience in knowledge management, management of institutional memory, communication and outreach, digital content curation and projects related to information management and retention of knowledge.
  • Experience working in international setting.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English.
  • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Organizational Setting

The Division of Energy Planning, Information and Knowledge Management comprises the Planning and Economic Studies Section, Nuclear Knowledge Management Section, the Nuclear Information Section and the Nuclear Support Systems Group. The Division is responsible for strengthening capacities in energy and nuclear power planning, building capacities to manage nuclear knowledge and provide knowledge management services to interested member states, and to procure and provide printed and electronic information in the area of nuclear science and technology.

The Nuclear Information Section (NIS) consists of the IAEA Lise Meitner Library Unit and the INIS Unit. The Section fosters the exchange of scientific and technical information on the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology; preserves and promotes access to nuclear information, provides information services and support to Member States and to the IAEA; and assists with capacity building and training in information management practices.

Main Purpose

To provide technical expertise and input with regards to improving the analysis of impact of nuclear information services and provide added-value services such as trends in research, as well as the outreach of INIS among the key stakeholders such as academia, research community, and operators, and to strengthen knowledge sharing with the goal to sustainably improve the discoverability of nuclear information provided by INIS.

Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Implement knowledge sharing and documentation within INIS as well as among its counterparts in NIS and across the Agency, on all matters related to nuclear information retention and retrieval.
  • Facilitate communication and outreach in support of promoting the services provided by INIS both within the Agency and with external stakeholders, through, among others, gathering user feedback and testimonies and creating relevant information materials to promote INIS.
  • Provide first-level response and process the queries received from INIS users, identify nuclear information that is requested and provide guidance to the users on discoverability.
  • Organize knowledge sharing activities, as well as training seminars, events and meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 200, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
